It never was atheists we relied on to finish our fights for us,but theists. Spartans, the warrior monks of China and Japan,Scottish highlanders,Irish gallowglass, viking beserkers,Daoist monks,Knights templar,Arabian hashashim,Apache,Maori,Gurkha
How could any atheist ever say belief in Gods is a concept for the weak when clearly all those mentioned were specialist warriors, warriors who not only believed in Gods, but were without a doubt the best of their time, and still would be if guns werent invented.God is for the brave, not for the weak,as history shows us. People that say any different are clearly ignorant about history. Outside of war,we see that all the best fighters again are extremely religious. Muhammed ali,Evander holyfield,Amir Khan,Prince naseem and Lennox lewis are the best examples of this in the west.Quietly saying his prayers in the corner before the fight, and then defeating tyson,Holyfield then thanked God on public television, and gave God the credit for his prowess.Point is belief in God is far from being a concept of the weak willed, the weak minded, saying that is absurd. What God is exactly is not important, what is,is that belief in God has a certain affect on a man preparing for battle,an affect which will make him far deadlier, therefore God is not a concept for the weak, but for the strong, since all the best warriors the world has ever known were theist. What was it exactly that distinguished a samurai from a farmer at arms ? Not all samurai were good men,not all good warriors were noble, but the best of them were is my point,as in Miyamoto Musashi, finest Samurai ever known in Japan .Another famous warrior,William Wallace lived in Dunipace, with his uncle,a clergyman.his uncle taught him the classics in latin,it was the spiritual philosophy of the christian faith that made wallace what he was
Shaolin monks are clearly above the rest of the martial arts world, and so is the wudang temple, home of Tai chi,the deeper, spiritually driven side of kung fu,its from both these temples that all other styles of kung fu have originated.Arguably, all other martial arts. The art itself was first given to them by an Indian monk, who travelled from India to china, the martial arts in India were also developed by monks, and it was Zen monks who taught samurai to fight originally, the samurai philosophy and fighting art evolved around Zen,and the quest for enlightenment, the samurai chivalric system became known as Bushido, while Ninjas called their art Ninpo,“po” meaning “higher order”
“Not for ourselves, but for god” was the templar motto, the best christian knights in all europe, and extremely devout, their training wasnt unlike the training of buddhist monks, meditation, and cold water dowsing, something very similiar to the “misogi” of the japanese samurai, where the practitioner meditates in ice cold water,to find his true centre and still his thoughts. The warriors of India were of course devoted to the Gods shiva and Kali, the aspect of God which fights tyranny, like Yahweh Sabboath, this is the Jewish interpretation of shiva or kali, when king David rode out to meet his foes it was Yahweh Sabboath he prayed to for help
Not all wars are just, but the point is not all men are either, and when they arent,we need the just to oppose them,as in opposition to hitlers fascism, when peace has failed, war happens, when that happens the just must win or we are all in trouble, consider the source of the strength that in times of great terror has led men to overcome the odds to fight and win against wickedness.Theres something greater than selfish desire, although it cant be defined
