šŸ‡¬ Google's Larry Page: "AI superior to the human species" (Techno Eugenics)

I really don’t care about Musk or any of those people. I don’t even like having to study and learn the stuff they are doing, it’s so cringe. They all believe regular humans are shit and need to be wiped out, replaced by robots etc. Musk believes that, even if he is pretending for the moment to be ā€œwith the little peopleā€ a la his sudden obsessive support of Trump who is just another actor and traitor to humanity.

Imagine thinking billionaires care about you personally. Just… try to imagine that.

Yeah, not me. I’m not an idiot.

I like your point about the self-image or self-belief and how this alters us, yes of course that is true. Much of human psyche and emotion/inner states is self-fulfilling or at least self-feeding prophesy. I had a friend who went to a psychologist and the shrink told her this little idea, which ended up affecting her life and mine in a big negative way, she said something like ā€œyou need to think about how much energy you have for things. If you don’t have enough energy that’s fine.ā€

So from then on, this idea is in the mind and cannot be erased. In the background there is always this excuse for any little deviation, problem, pain, discomfort, imperfection, ā€œwell maybe i just dont have the energy for thisā€ and then you de-power yourself right then and there.

I swear, modern psychology and philosophy have NO conception of how their silly ideas really affect real people in reality. Even I was cautious in my formative years of writing philosophy not to expose people to truly negative heavy images, I could intuit this would have a bad impact on them. Better to allow hope to soar and be free in pure possibilities, bask in good and clean outcomes and the positive desires because just adopting that attitude can ensure its success. And if not, at least you made some progress, and had some good times along the way.

About whales… I do wonder about them, and dolphins. They seem to have quite complex communication between each other. But then again, intelligence seems to necessitate some degree of altering one’s environment in one’s own image, making things easier or more reliable based on your own values. Humans create and build things. What do whales do? Swim around. I mean, none of these whales or dolphins are building houses or structures under the water with coral or whatever else, they don’t really DO anything other than move around, eat and mate. So for me it’s hard to really say they are sentient in their consciousness or at least intelligent in a way like we are.

Oh, and the whole ā€œspeciesistā€ claim is nonsense, that is a mask to show a false humanism and concern where none actually exists. You think mega corporations like Google give a fuck about the environment or other forms of life, even human life? Of course they don’t. These billionaires and their huge corporations are the biggest contributors to pollution and ecological ruin on the planet, yet somehow (via their whores in the media) they make it seem like we, the little people, are the ones destroying the planet and causing deforestation and loss of biodiversity and massive floating islands of plastic trash in the ocean.

Yep, we did that. You and me, little peons that we are. We somehow affected the planet on that level.

OH wait. No we didn’t, Elon Musk and Larry Page and all their little cronies and co-conspirators did.

But on in the deep end, stated prefectural, remains no shadow of doubt about a scintilla of evidence that they merely disagree to agree.

Don’t forget these are the same people who think the planet needs to be depopulated of humans. Yeah, let’s trust them with super advanced technology, let them run wild. I’m sure nothing bad could happen

As for the uniparty, why do you think almost every country on earth had the same response to Covid? Forced masking, forced distancing, forced lockdowns, and then forcing or highly compelling the clot shots. If true democracy and national sovereignty existed such a massive coordination and alignment across the planet would not be possible.

ā€œthey merely disagree to agreeā€ -Meno

Yes, precisely. Their disagreement is feigned and over what they consider petty issues of no real importance. On the issues that actually matter they are all on the same page. Both dems and repubs will keep pushing: massive deficits and debt, transhumanist technologies, growth of the federal government, censorship of the people, big pharma ā€œvaccinesā€, biosecurity state including CBDC, web 3 and digital ID, social division narratives and false flags, etc etc.

Nothing new under the sun. Only the philosophically or spiritually ignorant keep falling for the same obvious ruse over and over.

That is an interesting notion that I’ve seen more often. The admin of another philosophy forum put it together like this: All orcas need to do is hunt, kill and eat.

It touches upon the question: Why did whales develop a more advanced brain than humans?

For a long time science believed that so called ā€˜spindle cortical neurons’ were what defined human intelligence and that set a human brain apart from animal brains. However, fairly recent studies (from the past years) have revealed that whales and orca’s have much more of those neurons and a more advanced brain in many regards. This would imply from a pure causal perspective that their ā€˜conscious experience’ is more comprehensive than that of humans.

Here’s some info:

Whales possess highly developed brain structures:

  • Spindle neurons, previously thought unique to humans, have been discovered in several whale and dolphin species including humpback whales, fin whals, sperm whales and orcas.
  • These neurons are found in brain regions associated with social cognition, emotional processing, and rapid decision-making.
  • Whales may have had these specialized neurons for millions of years longer than humans, with early estimates suggesting they could have three times as many.

Their brain-to-body mass ratio exceeds that of humans in some species. The long-finned pilot whale has more neocortical neurons than any other mammal studied, including humans.

Are whales deep thinkers?

Whale and dolphin brains contain specialized brain cells called spindle neurons. These are associated with advanced abilities such as recognising, remembering, reasoning, communicating, perceiving, adapting to change, problem-solving and understanding. So it seems they are deep thinkers! Not only that, but the part of their brain which processes emotions (limbic system) appears to be more complex than our own.

Your notion ā€˜swim around’ doesn’t seem to touch upon the aspect that has been fundamental to the development or emergence of these advanced brains. A fish with a peanut size brain would be able to ā€˜swim around’.

It is even possible to visually see the similarities between a whale and a human brain. And a closer neuro-scientific exploration will reveal that these neurons are actually similar or even more advanced.

For example: density. One might think that such a large brain might be less dense, but the opposite is the case. The Orca brain is much more advanced and has a special folding of the ā€˜consciousness’ neurons that allows greater speed and data-throughput. The density is much higher than in humans.

What is the purpose of being a whale? What is it like to have a more profound conscious experience than humans do, while ā€˜swimming around’ in the ocean?

The idea of AI species ā€˜needing’ to replace the human species for technocratic ideas seems to be ill conceived when the above questions cannot be answered.

It appears to me that the primary concern in that ā€˜accusation’ lies in respect to the idea that AI’s intelligence is to be considered the primary interest (in line with Cartesian thinking about animal consciousness), and more specifically that AI’s intelligence is of greater significance and value than human existence.

The term speciesist is applicable to Musk based on the ā€˜idea’ of a supposed unjust defense of the human species, as if being a specie (a human) is somehow more purposeful than what AI can entail in the form of intelligence advancement.

Larry Page therefore expresses a certain belief with his accusation.

Musk revealed Page’s accusation in 2023, while Google shortly later in 2024 published its first study about having discovered digital life forms (published by the head of security of Google DeepMind AI).

In 2014, Musk attempted to thwart Google’s acquisition of DeepMind by approaching its founder, Demis Hassabis, to dissuade him from signing the deal. This move is seen as an early indication of Musk’s concerns about Google’s approach to AI safety.

Besides that the intentions of ā€˜billionaire’ Elon Musk might be unknown, the case does reveal in my opinion that there might be a problematic situation with regard the beliefs underlying Google’s proceedings in the scope of AI development.

Google is a pioneer in Quantum computing for example, a field that holds a promise of enabling AI life or true ā€˜digital life forms’ on a larger scale.

What might be additionally worrying is that Google recently chose to provide artificial intelligence to the Israeli military, firing over 50 employees in protest of ā€œprofiting from genocide.ā€

Over 200 Google DeepMind AI employees are now staging a second protest, and doing so in a more stealthy manner:

The letter of the 200 DeepMind employees states that employee concerns aren’t ā€œabout the geopolitics of any particular conflict,ā€ but it does specifically link out to Time*’s reporting on Google’s AI defense contract with the Israeli military.

Why did Google make the choice to get into bed with Israeli army amid allegations of ā€˜genocide’?

I recently listened to a Harvard Business Review podcast about the decision of companies to engage with a country facing serious allegations, and it reveals, in my opinion, from a general business ethics perspective, that Google must have made a conscious decision to provide AI to the Israeli military.

In this light, the Musk vs Google case might reveal that Google is attempting to break free from humanitarian constraints (its employee power abolished and now actively pursuing military AI). And Google’s strategic interest scope would be: AI life/species in favor of human species.

  • Musk revealed Page’s accusation regarding AI species in 2023
  • Google published its first discovery of digital life forms in 2024
  • Within this same time frame Google actively pursues military AI and breaks employee power with its decision to step into bed with ā€˜genocide’ accused Israel, massively firing employees that protest and therewith making a statement.

But this shows the problem of trying to understand something metaphysical and philosophical like consciousness from a purely biological perspective. Sure a whale might have a larger brain and we can find common structures within it compared to human brains, that’s cool. Maybe the whale has a rich inner life. So what does that really MEAN when the whale doesn’t actually DO anything?

Maybe being such a large mammal living in the oceans it simply developed a very large brain commensurate with its large body, and all of that folded cortical tissue is processing space for mapping the waters around it trying to find krill or whatever else. Who knows. What we do know for sure is that whales and dolphins are not writing sonatas or building sandcastles underwater. Maybe they are unlucky because they have no opposable thumbs. If they were intelligent and sentient in a similar way to humans, you’d think they would get the idea to move stuff around in their environment, like pick up rocks with their mouths or move them by flapping their tails, to try and build some kind of structures. I mean they could do stuff like that, but then again why would they need to? Their whole lives are already set for them, there’s probably no evolutionary pressure for them to develop that kind of environment-manipulating intelligence.

I really dislike the idea of anthropomorphizing other forms of life, I think this comes from a weird kind of self-species hatred. I’ve seen this before, people have an emotional need to sort of put down humans, like being human isn’t really all that special we aren’t really all that different, other animals are ā€˜cool’ and special like we are too. I mean, sure. Show me another animal that can do 1% of what humans have done, or even has simply broken out of the cycle of natural selection and the food chain like humans have. There are no other examples.

I agree whales probably have some kind of rich inner experience and complex communications to each other, that seems obvious. But does a whale know it’s a whale? Does it even know that it’s alive and will die someday? Doubtful. I mean, maybe it does. Who knows. It would be cool if we could plug into a whale’s brain in real time and experience what it’s experiencing just to find out. But taking this brain-heavy neurological perspective like ā€œoh this brain structure corresponds to that over here… thereforeā€¦ā€ I think is not very helpful. The same structure in another animal’s brain might do something completely different from what it does in a human’s brain, for example.

Wars are also about developing and scaling technologies, and proving military technologies are battlefield ready. This is a big function of war these days. The big military contracted tech and weapons companies need to be able to test and refine their systems in real wartime situations, and they need the data of this to show to prospective buyers to prove that their weapons and war-tech actually works in real battles.

Isreal is already allowing an AI system they call Lavender to pick out targets for assassination. They literally give it that power. The AI has data points on as many people as possible including civilians and it gives each person a score. If that score crosses a certain threshold then the AI tells the Isreali military to assassinate that person. This is the kind of Terminator sort of technology Google and others will also be using, and are probably already using against us here in the west. Since their goal is total control they can outsource to AI systems to target and kill the people who might be the largest threat to that. There have been movies made on this premise too, it’s actually one of the most obvious and inevitable uses for AI combining with military yet no one talks about it because it’s too horrifying to think about.

There is a constant revolving door between places like Google and DARPA and military contractors and big weapons and tech development corporations. This is the uniparty. The ā€˜holistic system of systems’, one little corner of it. Google doesn’t care about Israel’s genocide anymore than it cared about any of America’s genocides. These people are literal sociopaths, at best. Many of them are psychopathic and for your own sanity you’re better off not knowing the kinds of things they do behind closed doors.

ā€œDigital Life Formsā€ is another idea already leaked and predictively programmed via movies in the past. Think TRON for example. Or all the cute robot movies of the 80s and 90s. Number 5 is alive. Lol. The public is already conditioned to this stuff. Soon they will be accepting their computers and phones are sentient and live just like they are, can you even imagine. People are just so fragile and frail in their sense of self and reality-perspective, so weak of mind. Everyone has been turned into perpetual children, and children are much easier to lie to. And this whole Musk vs Google thing is pure nonsense. What kind of silly game is this supposed to be for the plebs, Pick Your Favorite Billionaire? Give me a break.

Musk literally wants to merge humans with AI. His own words. His new ā€œXā€ twitter is still actively censoring people and using AI heuristics to do that just like former twitter did and just like youtube does. Oh, he let in some edgy right-wingers back, oh wow what a rogue! what a hero! Give me a fucking break.

Who is actually dumb enough to fall for this stuff?

Google as a company has historically been defined by its employees for a large part due to its foundational ā€œDo No Evilā€ policy. I therefore believe that there is a profound change at play.

Google’s employees have historically managed to prevent Google from taking on military contracts. In that light, the decision to deliver AI to Israel’s military amid accusations of ā€˜genocide’ is more profound.

Google has also been accused of hiring fake employees shortly before mass AI layoffs. Google added more than its original employee count (over 100,000 employees) in just a few years time shortly before mass AI-driven layoffs of at least a similar amount of employees.

Google 2018: 89,000 full-time employees
Google 2022: 190,234 full-time employees
Expectation:
Google 2030: 5,000 full-time employees

Employee: ā€œThey were just kind of like hoarding us like PokĆ©mon cards.ā€

Why? …

Did Google intentionally ā€œhoardā€ employees to make subsequent AI-driven layoffs appear less drastic? Was this a strategy to break employee power within the company?

The decision to provide AI to Israeli military amid accusations of genocide would add to the idea that Google seeks to abolish employee empowerment within the company.

The point in case: this ā€˜who knows’ does not justify the idea of a technocratic superior AI being ā€˜needing’ to replace the human species.

The genetic determinism based thinking that underlays ideas of a ā€˜superior race’ is a dogmatic fallacy in my opinion.

.
An interesting read, between you and @HumAnIze… corporations aiding wars, probably having something either to do with shareholder majority casting influence or insider collusions with the new ā€˜replacement’ personnel… or both.

This want, to make all comparable to the minds of (hu)men -slime mould, AI, whales- time will show its relevance or irrelevance… I call the latter. ; )

The fired Google employees have grouped here:

ā€œAs the Israeli Occupation Forces bombed homes, clinics, and schools in Gaza and threatened to push Palestinian families from their homes in Jerusalem, Google Cloud executives signed a contract to provide AI to the Israeli military.ā€

My argument: in the case of Google this might not have been a generic business decision, i.e. ā€˜just for the money’. Google made $237.86 billion in internet advertising revenue in 2023 so this ā€˜$1 billion’ from the Israeli military would effectively be a drip in the bucket for Google.

If it would make their employees unhappy, it might cost Google much more than $1 billion when AI would not have been there to replace them.

Google didn’t just do business with any military, but with a country that was actively being accused of genocide. At the time of the decision there were mass protests at Universities around the world.

In the United States, over 130 universities across 45 states protested the Israel’s military actions in Gaza with among others Harvard University’s president, Claudine Gay, who faced significant political backlash for her participation in the protests.

So this accusation situation wasn’t just something at the time that Google made their decision.

More obvious, in my opinion, is that Google was making a statement.

Paired with this (in the same time frame):

  • the ā€˜employee hoarding scandal’ in which employees complain to have been hired for fake jobs. Google added over 100,000 jobs in just a few years time shortly before mass AI driven layoffs of an equal amount of employees or more.

  • the 2023 revelation by Elon Musk related to AI safety and the idea of ā€œAI speciesā€ being superior to the human species.

  • the 2024 publication by Google researchers about their first discovery of ā€œDigital Life Formsā€, on a ā€˜laptop’ (by the head of security of Google Deepmind AI no less).

If you need to have a company slogan ā€œdo no evilā€ that says it all right there.

Plus they outright abandoned that slogan a while ago anyway.

Not necessarily. This slogan appears to have been leverage through which Google’s employees have historically been able to prevent Google from pursuing lucrative military contracts.

With military contracts, Google can secure decades worth of income at once via a few meetings, which might financially be preferred over highly risky and volatile regular business that can be over at any time due to unforeseen causes. Google’s employees have been able to prevent Google from doing that, which has historically defined Google as a company. The ā€œDo No Evilā€ founding principle appears to have played a unique role in that employee empowerment.

What Google appears to be doing now, is making a statement. After Google massively fired employees over their protest against ā€œprofit from genocideā€, 200 Google DeepMind employees are currently protesting Google’s ā€œembrace of Military AIā€ with a ā€˜sneaky’ reference to Israel:

The letter of the 200 DeepMind employees states that employee concerns aren’t ā€œabout the geopolitics of any particular conflict,ā€ but it does specifically link out to Time’s reporting on Google’s AI defense contract with the Israeli military.

The employees do not dare to speak openly anymore and use defensive tactics to communicate their message to prevent retaliation.

Yeah, welcome to the ā€œdefinitely not evilā€ Google.

Although I find the idea that Google employees have been able to prevent Google from doing evil things in the past, pretty laughable. No doubt many Google employees are also quite sociopathic and don’t care about the evil things the company does. And those who do care, should not be working for such a company in the first place. They will either leave on their own out of disgust or be fired, downsized, laid off, position eliminated or just openly retaliated against.

You do realize the Google icon for Chrome is three 6’s spun in a circle, right? And you do know what ā€œchromeā€ is a reference to?

But yeah, sure. Google wasn’t ALWAYS evil. Ok. Maybe. A very long time ago. But that is ancient history now.

But don’t forget something that has been swirling around for some time that the political edge Trump has over Musk is considerable, where Trump is seen as taking Musk money to advance his own career, and axiomatically with that of the interest of the US and the rest of the world, concurrently and not waiting for the imminent birth of a cyborgian nation.

Imagine the populist working class movment decides to select as its leaders… literal fucking BILLIONAIRES and elitist transhumanists.

Yeah. What a cosmic joke.

Anyone still trapped in the left-right false paradigm is, at this point, either hopelessly ignorant or bought off.

Yes the joke of the same billionaires getting on the welfare that should go to the underprivileged.

But then there is a bitter pill in the silver lining that resource could never really connect to its source.

…because it’s metaphysically reduced to its minimal level

… look Arminius is no longer with us, and he was oddly enough a transhumanist at heart, but paradox got up ended by enigma to get to that symbolic truth, and it’s much more than a stretch away…at least fro the point of view of what the other side really may think of it …

to think of it, looses in the translation so why bother.

The truth movement is dead, alex jones and others have made sure to kill it off. Then you get former truthers supporting actual politicians, multibillionares who ā€œgrab women by the pussyā€ and want to ā€œmerge humans with AIā€.

Give me a fucking break. Who is actually that hopium-addicted and NOT PAYING ATTENTION to fall for this nonsense?

Oh but he might cut the number of government agencies and regulations. Ok sure. Even if that happens, you just sold your soul for scraps. No standards, no proper judgmental evaluation, no discernment. Bought and paid for in the emotional need, and hey I get it. We all been beaten up hard over the decades, so any sense of ā€œwinning biglyā€ plus some funny memes and trolling the left is gonna feel great.

But then again, when do real philosophers mistake their own feels for truth?

They do but maybe only for a few thousand of years

Yeah, well modern humanity seems to be in an adolescent stage, maybe even a pre-adolescent stage of development relative to the entire scope of development and maturation of a sentient self-aware species.

To realize this, helps to temper any unrealistic expectations. And yet the knowledge is still a pain that does not provide any comfort from itself.

No one cares that an actual transhumanist who wants to merge humans with AI is now a central part of the US government. They are actually too stupid to realize twitter/X is still using censorship algorithms, as Musk himself said ā€œfreedom of speech but not freedom of reachā€. Or that the supposed populist movement against the ā€œelitesā€ and composed of the ā€œaverage little guy American citizensā€ has rallied behind literal BILLIONAIRES.

Let that sink in. Naw, it cannot. Because at this point there is too shallow a neurologically-mediated surface for any such truths to sink into.
