… has the right to regulate anything deemed nessecary for a moderen life.
Is this a good philosophy? Government and philosphy don’t go together as for spacifics of application. So why would this philosphy fail? I think it would only fail because the integrety of the individuals that run government. Yet isn’t that why we have elections. So we can pray or meditate as to who to elect? Hoping that charecter will allow them to get educated on the issues to a stance of moral integrety?
i think there is a lot going on here, so i’m going to take this one step at a time. first: government…
NO. but, i have a problem with this because of vagueness. people have rights guarenteed to them, not governments. at least this is my understanding. the rest is social contract among international bodies…the right to self rule maybe…and not be invaded…maybe…i don’t know. i hope someone else can expand on this more.
second:
i don’t think this is right. i think that philosophy can and does dictate the specifics of government. For example: although the idea of democracy isn’t the exact same as most real democracies (take the US’s representative democracy for example), the idea serves as a guidline for how specifics should play out (EX: voting…)
well, i terms of getting the right people in office…this is definitely a challenge. i mean, a representative dem. isn’t necessarily good. too indirect perhaps. If you want a philosophy suggest maybe you should read Plato’s the Republic and his ideas on philosopher kings.
they don’t have the rights to revoke anything that pertains to my individual life, as long as it’s at no loss to anyone else (as in, it doesn’t negatively effect them in any way). They might do it none the less, but they surely aren’t justified
Moderen society deems it nessecary to have peace if they do not start caos first. IE police.
Moderen society deems it nessecary to have schools in order to actually contribute to society.
Pollution, cars/ roads, phones to do almost anything, medical to get back on your feet… ect.
Then people that cannot make it need help to catch up in this fast paced life. I mean,… we’re not gana allow someone to drop out of society and live off the land without paying taxes for that land.
As soon as air polution becomes too big of a problem,… who are we going to look for help and accountability? As soon as land availability becomes too big of a problem, who’s going to maintain order in our society?
