I’m not saying you should go looking for a fight. I’m just saying you should test the spirits. ‘Cause it sounds like they brought the fight to you.
I’m just saying if ignoring doesn’t work, just treat them like any other person (like when you debated Uccisore). It’s not like you’re in it by yourself (the God you choose to wrestle instead can help you surface the best ideas by sinking theirs…and there’s ILP…and Christian apologists…). Unless you want to be alone. Then you’re shit out of luck.
You know Ecmandu once beat Iambuguousm, right? At his own game. He actually demonstrated objective right and wrong in a way that all rational men and women are obliged to agree with, without it being just another intellectual contraption. So if you beat him, my hat goes off to you.
See this is why I forget that I call you out on your fake bullshit. Because you totally ignore what I say and just totally change the subject.
Love has to be a choice, which means alternatives to love have to be a choice. Would you rather alternatives to love have zero negative consequences? Would you rather all love be easy and have zero growth potential? We’re having this conversation for the umpteenth time, aren’t we?
Jesus said it is to be expected; he didn’t promise that there wouldn’t be any trials to overcome. He said to take heart, though, because he has overcome the world. By that he meant he always kept self=other as the descriptor of everything he did, including his thoughts and emotions. He faced the crucifixion fully sober, sweating blood. He wasn’t a keyboard messiah.
I see you took his advice about that “taking heart” thing, though. ‘Cause you’re made in his image. Innate… & by choice. We all are.
The cross was Jesus demonstrating there is nobody keeping score but us, and it ruins the fun, so he took the loss so we could do likewise & get over ourselves.
No. Why are we hurting (weakening) people? Why are we not helping (strengthening, empowering) people who are hurting? Those are the appropriate questions.
When we are the ones hurting, we can count it all joy. The stronger we are from overcoming, the more tools under our belt that we can pass on to others. A deeper strength and love we can know. Peace in the midst of storms. The treasures that never fade away.
It’s in the Good News of the Kingdom, but knowing is only half the battle. Well, actually, it’s only a third of the battle :-p
