I’m glad that you didn’t say what people normally are saying when they use that quote, which is that we don’t really need to help poor people. Which is not what Jesus was saying.
Another way to say what Jesus was actually saying there, he also said elsewhere. I referred to one instance before when I said that he promised adversity. When he told us to take heart.
It means that you don’t stop living life just because something is wrong about it that needs fixing. You have to celebrate the wins. And how are there going to be wins/gains if there is no adversity??
If you fail to celebrate the gains, you are people who hoard their money up and never even enjoy life together. That is an example of death and insanity while you’re still alive.
When some things are facts and some things are nonsense, but the obtuse like to conflate/entangle the two, so that they become one and the same/nonsense.
