Human or animal? What would you choose?

If you could choose to be reincarnated as a human or a animal of any kind, what would you choose?
I personally would have choosed to be reincarnated as a animal, because they need to do less difficult choises, etc. that humans need to do.

If you choose to be reincarnated as a animal, wich animal would you choose? And why exactly that animal?

Thanks.

Well, i think there are definite perks to being human and i’d hope to come back as an avid book-reader. It would be nice to come back as a bird, though. You get to fly. They are familial. Some even mate for life. Noble animals. That might be ironic, though, because i love cats and as a bird i might get eaten by one. I could come back as a cat – of course, preferably a housecat, but i don’t know if i’d get much karmic work done that way.

How about you, Neptun?

Would you really want to be reincarnated as a non-human animal the way we treat them today? However, we don’t treat some humans much better. At least as a human you have some power to change it. As a non-human animal the chances are more likely that you’ll end up on someone’s plate.

As a real philosopher I can fully and 100% say that any philosophy teacher would you tell you that you have to choose human in that situation because it is the greater being. You can’t choose the smaller good over the greater good. The best example of this was in the original Matrix movie where that character Syther chose to have a contract with the Agents so that he would forget everything about the real world and go back to living in the fake world as long as they erase his memory that any real world ever existed. Morally and Ethically speaking you can never condem such a choice. If you go around and ask philosophy teachers that have taught for year and years, they will all say human because it is the greater being on the hiarchy or beings.

pink pink :stuck_out_tongue:

My former roomie and I sat on the couch one night, stoned, contemplating the source, meaning, and experience of life (solving ALL sorts of major metaphysical and existential problems) when I said, “I’m so glad to be a human” and she shrieked “AH! Me too!” The we split a box of cookies and watched a movie.

That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Real philosopher.

And I’ve always had an affinity for owls. Though I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen one in real life.

so awesome. and yeah, i’d say being a human is where its at. but i wouldn’t know any better.

i do think it would be fun to be someone’s “outdoor cat” though. skulking around, falling asleep everywhere, going inside during bad weather… generally not caring about anything. my ideal state.
