Humanity and indvidualism

Is it not right that one should be human above all other things? That all rights and priviledges be directed towards that? When we begin to put minority loyalties above the basic human rights and principles we create a world of chaos and strife.
We put country loyalties, gender loyalties, family loyalties religious loyalties and political loyalties above human loyalty. To me that is counterproductive to the human species. If we see ourselves as humans first, all else second then we all would stand on common ground. Once on common Ground we can begin to work together if we keep focused on the human priority. Does this make sense to anyone else?

We can be individuals second and still achieve great things.

who did what?

humanity killed the indians…

humanity killed the jews…

humanity did nothing…

individuals do everything.

The last two sentences are correct the others were not.

the last two sentences were the whole point

we are always individuals first

it is only liberal democrats under the guise of multiculturalism who want to divide and separate individuals into groups and classes according to “race”

-Imp

You were born first a human then became individual. And no its not always Liberal democrats, I realize you dislike those critturs but, they are not the bane of individuals. they are a really big thorn that has festered within but, a bit of surgery can remove it. Same with conservative Republicans and other idiots.

The individual must be human before the individual. The individual must see other individuals as humans first to reach a common ground. This does not remove the individuality. Unless you create a whole manifesto on it and create an army to back it. I would suggest keeping it simple. It would be less likely to cause strife.

When genocide happens it is because the victims are not seen as humans first. The Attackers put their group above their humanity. No common ground.

genocide happens because humans kill other humans…

the motivation is stupid, but in order to prevent it, you’ll have to lobotomize (remove their humanity) them…

individually.

-Imp

 You are killing me with misunderstanding… or deliberate challenge, I must be sick, I rather enjoy it.

Ok, yes they are human but they are not putting humanity first they are putting what ever sub group they are with first. one individual cannot commit genocide, Ok if that indivdual had a really big bomb they could but, the individual normally cannot face a group alone. That Individual must gather a like subgroup to commit genocide

You have humanity then you have all the sub groups the sub groups within sub groups.

you have humanity, you have a cluster fuck

manipulate them as you can

-Imp

I like cluster fucks, they are easier to get to listen to you. If there is not a cluster fuck then everyone walks away

Your idea of surgery must harken back to the old days indeed.

I don’t know what kind of surgery you have in mind, but imagine performing brain surgery on someone’s brain, when the tumor on that brain, takes up like 90% of its structure, and all of its core-function.

Perform surgery on the multiculturalism in canada, and all you have left when you’re done hacking is the chopped remains of a corpse, thats how bad it is. The disease is so propagated that no mere surgery could ever cut it out.

I grew up my whole life, from primary, grade 1, to grade 12, being taught every year, that every native american tribe in north america was peaceful, not just midly peaceful, but basically ancient hippy beat-nicks that never engaged in violence.

Which is pretty fucked up considering that they engaged in constant warfare and genocided each other for thousands of years before europeans set one foot in north america. No seriously, the fact that I was lied to my whole life, and only knew better when I came upon tonnes of other information by *CHANCE, when under my own influence I became interested in hunter-gatherer studies, well it seriously pisses me off.

This was an agenda passed to the teachers by the schoolboard, by whatever policy creating fuck was approached by native american advocacy groups.

Say what you want about republicans, I can point out dozens of beliefs that are absurd/bullshit that are associated with them too, I never had anyn of that shit shoved down my throat while I was at school though, I never had it shoved down my throat in grade 1, 2, and 3.

Republicans may be great for indoctrinating their own children into beliefs, liberals are great for indoctrinating school-children into fancy happy fantasies.

and keep in mind i labeled myself as liberal just a few years ago, I was a hardcore liberal. Then I found out liberal opinions on things like animal studies, environmental-science, their rejection of historical facts about cultures, etc. Its just… a lot of emotional bullshit.

i read this and then i wrote this viewtopic.php?f=6&t=164875 in the rant forum

similar? completely off base?

I see what you are saying Sum, but starting a relation based on a lie is going to cause strife further down. Your nonbelief will be noticed If you want common ground it cannot be anything but solid or there is nothing to work with that is solid in the long run.

Cyrene, I am not talking about socialisim. I am just trying to feel around for humanity. The commonness that we all share above all else. so that liberals can’t play their games niether can conservatives or any one group getting a leg up on others. Surely there is a common ground to work from. Common basic humanity might be difficult to agree upon but, it is not impossible. As humans what do we have in common above all other things?

lazy, selfish, herd animals driven by lust.

A thing is not different from itself. To divide man from man is not the way to phrase or answer a problem.
What is man? The Scripture uses several metaphors, all of which resolve to the same thing. However, from the front to the back of the book, the problem has always been described as a problem in human judgment. Therefore, when you start to comprehend the errors in your own statement, for example making man different from man, or claiming that we can see ourselves, you can then start to realize the beam is in your own eye. Learn how to remove that first, and then try to learn how to help others remove it from their eyes.

The human mind is the slowest system to mature. I was asked by my english teacher to turn pro in writing when I was a child. I told her no, I would not be ready to write until in my late 50’s early 60’s. It takes time, a lot of time and effort to learn. You can be popular when young, not popular when older, but is what you want to achieve measured in terms of popularity? Many people cite, recite and quote popular philosophers, but has any of them improved man’s ability to think?

No! it is exactly right that we should keep our loyalties to our community until such time as our community no longer defends our rights. Rights are the object of community, and virtually, of any form of relationship. And even if we recognize the equality of human kind, it really means nothing until it is made to mean something for all: of an mutual defense of rights for all. It is just like Posterity in the old line from Goucho Marx: Why should I do anything for humanity; What has humanity ever done for me? We should all do for those who do for us and gradually, and peacefully enlarge our circle of community.

wow, you all are kind of depressing… No one really wants to be the first, because they know no one else will move first so gaurd the borders and hate everyone because they only want what you have… And I thought intellect ruled at this forum not fears.

You all do not even try to come up with compromises on humanity. Its an atititude of me first and screw the future. No one wants to try and solve or discuss the possibles? just shoot it down? Lovely.

Kris,

While the ideal is… ideal, we aren’t likely to escape the us-them mentality… It’s possible in small groups, but on a societal scale reaches near impossibility. At best, we can create a construct where differences are sorted out and compromise reached, but the emphasis of differences rather than alikes isn’t going to go away soon…

Is this a downer? Sure. But we start where we’re at.

People are not moral out of intellect, but out of emotion. It is easy to treat others with dignity and caring when we know them and love them, and this becomes more difficult when people are distant, and foreign. It is all well and good to talk about how we should behave if guided by reason, and more honest to admit we are governed by emotion, so there must be some emotional satisfaction garnered from moral intercourse with people.

Try not to be a dummy. Intellectually, any thinking person should know that we are a brittle and inbred humanity, and that our greatest strength to survive as humanity is the little genetic diversity we have left. It is like the Muslims say, that if you would kill one it is as though you kill all humanity. We need to build a world community, but the source of tragedy is present in all communities. When people do not feel they can maintain control and cohesion without excluding others then people are put out, or killed. When we say the rights of Americans only exist for Americans, and that we will not respect the rights of others we are excluding them from our society, when this is contrary to the declaration under which we demanded our human rights, and fought for them; mainly, that all people are created equal. Since the equality of people is not an act of creation, but is a scientific, which is to say, a rational fact, it is doubly tragic if we exclude ourselves in the desire to exclude others. What do you think
