Ethel is driving and Mabel is riding in a pleasant daze when a frown crosses her face.
She thinks to herself, “That funny. I think that we ran a red light back there.” She considers it for a moment and then thinks that she must have been mistaken.
They continue along for a while and Mabel has another moment of panic. “I’m almost certain that we ran a red light again.” Looking back she sees nothing amiss in their wake, but she becomes determined to pay attention.
Her focus pays off not long after when they pass through another red light.
“Ethel what are you doing!?! You just ran through three red lights!”
“Oh,” says Ethyl, “am I driving?”
