i dont understand the rules of the thread,or it’s class. it looks like an easy way for everyone to chalk up more posts.must be one of the secrets of the incredibly high post count everyone but me has around here.
i’d at least appreciate somone to relay the rules to this thread.
As with any thread, I suspect one gets what one puts in.
As I know only Dunamis has artificially inflated his post count using word association. I have one of the highest post counts here, though Adlerian is steaming ahead of me towards the summit of Mt. Dunami, but I’ve got there through incessant posting in all sections and on all threads, rather than through the easy method of one word posts…
There aren’t rules really.
I say a word. You say the first thing that comes to your mind when you see that word. The next person says the first thing that comes to their mind when they see what you said.
Like the old psychiatrist trick with the ink blots, but without the blots.
Or ‘Free Association’, which was invented, I believe, by a comic rather than a psychologist…

In free association the concept is that words presented to you will stimulate you to give a response that comes from your hidden mind that is your subconscious, if you believe in such a thing. Then you take the assembled list of responses and interpret its meaning in relation to the subconscious. Of course, I’m going to bet that this is impossible to do without a structured list to get responses from and disregarding that, I’m sure that two to three thousand responses would be pretty difficult to interpret.
So, I have no idea what is going on in that thread.

There’s nothing more to it, folks. It is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the most ridiculous thing that could ever take place at a forum.
But do what you like.
Let me propose the impossiblity, that the perpetual mind machine of Dunamis 7000, could have been willingly word associating day and night for nothing. The guy was onto something, something subtle beyond general comprehension, something clever for most of us, except maybe liquidangel, whose intepretation of word association might just be the thing that got Dunamis hooked.
