People say, well, we have the technology for free energy… what they don’t realize is that any of the 7 billion people on earth, say some asshole in Nebraska, can blow the whole world up. So the issue is a bit more complicated than people make it out to be.

No I’m talking about people who think the “secret” tech is being witheld because people are evil.
Who knows. I wonder how much money would be lost if no one paid electricity or anything to do with energy.
Or some people are interested in hoarding or power. I have no idea if it is the case, but it hardly seems like something one can rule out sitting in an armchair at home. IOW via deduction, oh, look at the inherent impossibility of that idea.
We don’t have technology for free energy? There are no secrets. They all cost in all the the domains (financial, economic, environmental, social, political, etc).
If there weren’t secrets being withheld there wouldn’t be a CIA, Area 51, or other top secret classified places and groups. So that evidence alone kind of slaps your argument in the face.
It’s all about money really. Look at how much solar panels cost, if they wanted free energy they’d make it mandatory to install them in every home. They’re not interested in the well being of our planet and the species regarding it. They’re interested in living rich and nicely while they’re alive, giving little shits for the future generations to come.
Well… solar technology is coming a long ways… though as far as the general public knows there are still many bands of light that it cannot absorb efficiently… but they are making solar paper now instead of panels, that you can put around your whole house, or cover your whole roof. The problem with solar is that you need the sun and not everywhere has the sun. As the technology for solar improves, the prices will drop… so it’s not really free either.
The type of energy I’m talking about are things like the earths magnetic field, or even greater power sources than that… where everyone would have access to planet destroying devices on their property for the sake of free energy.
Solar panels are a waste of time and do nothing for the planet. Plant a tree. Reduce your waste. Cut your usage. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replant. But I suspect that is too much for consumerists to think about and implement. Let’s blame someone else for it instead.
