I still don’t understand what this has to do with philosophy.

Philosophy is the systematic and critical examination of fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. Philosophy normally doesn’t have to do with offended spirits who want to validate themselves and others who just pile on the abuse. The fact that this happens is one reason why people don’t normally last long here.

This thread seems to fit in numerous areas, like Psychology and Mind, The Sandbox, Non-Philosophical Chat, The Rant House. There are numerous possibilities, but instead, you post this garbage here. No wonder the standard of posts has reduced overall.

Just as all sex is not rape, not all choices are “either” rape “or” innocent (those “defenses” that you refer to in many posts). I’m not saying those defenses never apply—I am saying they do not always apply. Just like I’m not saying rape never happens.

You shouldn’t protect ALL people from their choices (with those defenses), or they will not understand that good choices are possible—it is like you are withholding the keys of the kingdom from them (opposite how the Pharisees did it). Here is the longer explanation:

You are stuck thinking in “karma“ instead of “grace”. For both grace & karma, “increments” is seeing/naming a problem and addressing/solving it (well or poorly) in the now, but for karma, “lump sum” is waiting until you’re dead to either “be sent” to hell or reincarnation into something that those you harm despise or whatever—if you get some “lump sum” early, you get early karma. Grace skips over all that and recognizes that none of us [excepting One—the only one(s) capable of “store”ing all information] has a perfect record. So if you have to be perfect in order to deserve a reward, &/or (the symbol of mutual production/exclusion) get sent to hell if you are not perfect, that is thinking in karmic terms. This is perhaps why some who claim to be Christians out of the same mouth say things like “karma is a bitch“. They also think hell is a bitch on the same terms. But, how can they claim to be Christian and not understand Grace? They are still “lost” on the issue.

By contrast, grace is self=other—hell is an option making non-hell (the Good) an option, we aren’t “sent” there—and we unhell each other in the now, rather than being (fake) “happy” when karma is a bitch. It’s not that we protect each other from hell (we need to respect people’s choices, or non-hell — the Good — cannot be an option), it’s that we self=other so that nobody wants (as a result of OUR behavior) to choose hell. This is not something that was started in the New Testament—merely fulfilled on the cross. This goes all the way back to the Law & the Prophets, where it says that God does not desire the death of the wicked, but that everyone turns back to the Good (Ezekiel 33:11). That is why Jesus lived and died and lives to communicate self=other and correct all our false assumptions (obstacles to joy). It’s really easy to get off course. The whole world is stuck in the karmic system of thinking until they realize there is no being who can make it true, because the only one keeping score already settled it “before” the “game” even kicked off. The entire game is in/from their being, and we have lost the point (love) of playing—joy. SERIOUS joy. It’s not “just” a game. Those who ruin the game for others will be the ones who lose the most (nihil) before any final (lump sum) win happens (note that final is always now… put it aside…). The best & only REAL competition is outdoing each other in self=other. Karma isn’t even child’s play. Children (are “pre”programmed to) play better than that until misguided adults teach them karma. Grace is good sportsmanship that never loses sight of the fact that if we don’t love each other at the end of the game, everybody lost the Super Bowl. Somebody stop me before this gets way too cheesy (¿too late?).
