I need help to find the right university in the USA

Hello, i’m sorry if this is not the right forum for this.

I am a student of philosophy at the university of Lund in sweden. I am planning to apply for an exchange student program in the USA and I need some helt to find the right university for me. I have a special interest for political philosophy (and also moral philosophy) and I would like to study at a university that puts special weight on this subject.

I’m thankfull for any help I might get

Fritz

Hej Fritzson,

May I suggest McGill University in Montreal? It’s a wonderful school set in the midst of a great city. Best of all, it’s in Canada.

Do yourself a favor, Fritz, and steer clear of Amerika. The people here are currently in the grip of a degenerate mass-hysteria fueled by their fear and hatred. It’s something that you wouldn’t want to be infected with, nor would you want to be the object of it.

Btw, my brother has a graduate degree in technology transfer from the University of Lund. He speaks very well of the years he spent in Svenska.

Best wishes,
Michael

I love Montreal, But I would look at the Univ or Texas, at Austin. If I could attend a program in the US, I would look there first.

I actually have been thinking of going to Montreal for graduate school, when I’m ready …around 2007. I haven’t done any investigating as far as schools go… I know about McGill, but are there others that have good graduate programs in philosophy?

Welcome back Polemarchus! I’ve taken I hiatus myself!

Ditto’s with Zen on the website. When considering schools, I also take into account a Best 357 college rankings: princetonreview.com/college/ … nkings.asp, which is meant for undergraduate programs, (click “College” at top of page, then “Research” under it – link on page) but it still might help avoid “party schools”, adverse politics, or whatever else you might find detrimental (or beneficial) to your education.

Good luck!
