Isn’t it fairly straight forward?
Policies in place… applied uniformly, blindly, consistently… punishment which fits the crime…escalating severity… an explanation from the judge.
The administrators are happy, the defendant is treated with respect, the plaintiff is satisfied, the mob mumbles agreement.
Yeah we both know though justice is subjective though. The plaintiff is mortified. Comes back and kills the Judge. Isn’t philosophy at the end of the day about discussing what justice is, what moral reason is?
At the end of the day, I think that philosophy is about creating a solution for real practical problems. Like handling problem posts and posters in a forum.
Magsj, you don’t understand the rules. Sock puppets are not allowed. You can’t tell someone to just come back as a sock puppet. And instant perma bans are not the rules, either.
FJ should just say what was in his head. It’s ban worthy, not insta perma ban worthy. Someone can point to the rules as well. It is NOT in the ILP Forum Rules.
There’s a difference between philosophizing about justice and practicing it. You don’t need to drag on an endless debate about justice before enforcing the rules.
