I think it’s obviously true that if I had lived a different life then I would have different opinions on a lot of things. I would be a different person.
I’m pretty sure that Maia wrote the same thing in some thread.
Who “can’t accept” it?
Do Felix, Bob or Ierrellus not accept it?
I anchor myself to lots of structures because I don’t want to live a life of chaos. It might be scaffolding or it might be stonework. It’s better than randomly bouncing around.
One can certainly say that I “need” structures.
Do you guys need a “crucial spiritual font”?
It’s how life works.
I’m not disturbed by this at all. I don’t find it problematic at all.
I agree with you. If I were born under all those different conditions I would be a different person. The whole notion is a flight of iambiguous’s imagination.
The idea of an anchor of the soul is an interesting metaphor. If we extend the metaphor to say that we are ships, an anchor will be very useful at times and others not. Is this more than another flight of iambiguous’s imagination?
I became familiar with the concept of Dasein when I read Heidegger’s Being and Time. So no that doesn’t disturb me. I’ve studied existential philosophy for decades. So Iambiguous’s frame of reference is not as different from mine as he seems to want to believe.
Iambiguous responds to posts, especially ones addressing him directly.
I just don’t see the tearing apart of his soul at every juncture as he states. If you’re going to use a linguistic token, it has to mean what it means, in terms of deeds associated with the definitional logic.
Iambiguous does this in deeds per definitional logic, but denies he’s doing it in print.
I’d like to see iambiguous go to trial for stealing a candy bar where he’s on tape and try pulling this “I” shit.
Speaking of shit, iambiguous knows he’s full of it.
