Me and a friend of mine have thrown around a similar idea for years now - we’ve just never gotten off our lazy asses long enough to actually cut a show. Point is, I’d potentially be interested.
Do you have access to the thinktank? We’ve discussed this there before, but it never got off the ground. I still like the idea but have also seen so many internet radio stations fail miserably that I’ve learned it must be done very well and properly organised from the get-go. Do you have any experience doing that sort of thing, Colin?
Funnily enough I am starting basic training on such a project in Glasgow very soon…so i will soon have the know how…I know the idea is pretty risque…who is really going to listen? A handful of users? Who is going to present a handful of users?
I suppose it could be a novelty once in a while but it would be great to have a full-time or part-time run station discussing philosophy, politics, culture, art, madness…plus music, poetry, interviews, information, chat about the site, symposia.
I guess a philosophy radio station sounds like quite a weak idea - but it could work.
Seriously - it’d be great. We could have phone-in arguments, ‘guess that philosopher’ competitions, I could have a weekly slot trashing Bertrand Russell…
