This is to announce the opening of the ILP Religious Open, a fun ILP tournament aimed at determining the most believable religion based on a series of debates that all of you will make!
The first matches will open on 10/01/09 at 10:30pm GMT, but until then, the Spectator Discussion thread is open for posting.
And no, there are no limitations for who argues for which religion, or against which religion.
I am very open to the idea and willing, but none of the religions seem to fit my taste. I was almost tempted to argue for Scientology but i know it’s impossible to win with.
If any of the current religions fail to attract a defender or you review the current religions chosen i would like to submit i would argue for Animism
Religion and conspiracy theories are different. They are treated differently historically and philosophically, people conceive of them differently, and our language reflects that by referring to them differently. They have similarities, and it can be argued that there is overlap, but they are decidedly distinct.
Put something together, and talk to us after this tournament, I think a conspiracy theories tournament could be worth-while.

The reason we have a tournament is because I’m the mod and I wanted to host an event.
This was the end result of wanting to do that since I’m mod of Religion.
If you want more events on other things, plop them into the suggestions section; personally, I’d love to see more events.
