That nobody decided to do an ILP April Fools Joke.

I think that it would be a good thing for someone to do next year for fun.

For instance, if someone had changed my handle as it appears to everyone else to, “Douchebag,” and my user name quip to, “Condtioned… To Be An Asshole,” I’d have found that hilarious! I know that some people would probably get offended, so you’d have to make an educated guess as to who would take it well and who would not.

Actually, it would have to be Douchebag146, so that there could be no doubting who the person being referenced is…

Like even if the person was told in advance what would happen and agreed to it, the people that were not in the know would still be scratching their heads and wondering what is going on!

It’d be hilarious.

I just figured you were a female because if you scroll back a few pages in the Picture Thread that is the impression Amor Fati seemed to have when he gave you the old a/s/l.

And, I know Amor Fati is a dude, so I don’t think he’d have a/s/l’d you unless you are a female.

Remember, I even commented, “Asking for a/s/l, are we? I think it might be Amor Fati and not Arcturus who is doing the, ‘rising.’”

What I decided to write here was in response to the title of the thread…it was supposed to be a belated “April’s Fool Joke”. I don’t know how well I actually “got” Faust…i think i may have confused him perhaps a wee bit. Maybe not. :banana-dance:

I have found that there are two basic options in life:

1.) Assume everyone is honest until given a reason to believe otherwise.

2.) Assume everyone is dishonest until given a reason to believe otherwise.

Either way, you end up f***ed or embarassed when given the reason to believe otherwise, at least generally.

Or we can simply look on it as a learning experience, be gentle with ourself and neither feel "f***ed nor embarrassed. To my way of thinking, it ought to be the one who wasn’t honest that ought to feel that way. :blush: don’t forget, this was a April fool’s Day joke, pav.

But seriously though, you are right, we simply choose the option we want to live our life…but it is, as far as I am concerned, the one who betrays or is deceitful, who must feel embarrassed and f***ed, not the other. :frowning:

Hmmmm…

I tend to disagree.

1.) If someone believes that another person is honest all the time and the person is actually dishonest, then the latter will often take advantage of the former which causes the former to be fucked. It is, however, true that this can often lead to the embarassment of the latter (especially if the latter’s plan goes awry) but, we are speaking in terms of the former.

2.) If someone believes that another person is dishonest and the latter turns out to be honest and does something really good for the former, then the former is embarassed for not believng in the latter in the first place.
