OK, a poor attempt at a kind of ZEN tale. Zen tales are often trying to elict experiences. Challenge assumptions, not so much by mentioning them, but by giving the listener an experience that puts them outside of it, gives them perspective on it, breaks it.
Poetry can also be gestural. No case is made - often - but there is an experience.
This is all opposed to everyday philosophical discussion. Commuincation as conduit.

I come up with the truth. I ‘put’ this truth ‘into’ the right sentences and say them. These sentences travel over to you and you unpack them, to get at the meaning ‘inside them’.
Reddy does a much better job laying out how common this metaphor for Communication is AND THAT IT IS A METAPHOR.
It seems like modern philosophy has not only moved to being a secondary to science - even at home - but also accepted the conduit metaphor and literal.
The dash of the sage in philosophers has been take out and now we have scientists of Words who are not linguists.
