In October the Commonwealth Ombudsman’s annual report said Centrelink was the government agency that attracted the most complaints. It highlighted the case of Mr C, who had an epileptic seizure as he queued at Centrelink for a review of his disability support pension. While paramedics were attending to him, Centrelink staff called his name, and were told he was the man on the stretcher. After several days in hospital he found Centrelink had suspended his pension because he had failed to attend an interview

Mr. Howard, fortunately, is now gone.
Howard (our ex-Australian Prime Minister for those who don’t know) wasn’t a fascist, but he did put forward extremely questionable policies. He sent us into Iraq and has never admitted it was wrong or the decision was a monumental f*ck-up. Then there is ‘workchoices’, Tampa, ‘children overboard’ to name a few. He was a master at ‘wedge politics’ and spin. Goebbels woud be proud.
