Is belief subject to will?
When people are arguing with eachother about Creationism and Evolution or different religions they often get frustrated by the other parties “choice” in belief. For instance: the christian religion condemns man for choosing not to believe in their God. I don’t see the choice being made when it comes to believe. The statement is presented in front of you and you weigh the evidence. Based on intuition and your weighing of the evidence your belief is made. If one were able to decide what (s)he believes in then wouldn’t we be able to choose the most absurd statements. I think this alone makes the christian doctrine illogical. Unless ofcourse, there is another formula for belief that I haven’t thought of yet.

maybe another formula for belief would be hope. Hope in something to exist may cause you to believe in it.
Nietzsche suggests that “we invented gods so that there was some all-witnessing presence to insure that no suffering ever went unnoticed”.
