Quite good for Christians, — while quite evil to others who do not condone human sacrifice, — just because a God whose reality has yet to be shown demands it.
The main point is; would any father or mother who reads this O. P., ever choose such a sacrifice, given that other venues were available as they were with God?

Well now is it the soul that lives or is it the body? Did the god allow the body to die and the soul to live? Yes. The body is considered a vehicle in this. Jesus did not die only his Chevrolet did.
The sects are slowly changing within. It is the most surest way for change to last. Force from the outside creates a tighter grip on archaic memes. You are wanting to work within one generation a change to things that are incredibly old, ingrained and memes. Passion must take second seat to rational thought. Passion is at the root of the issue. Ever retrain an old dog to new commands? I have. I had to retrain a 13 yr old dog to hand signals because he lost his hearing. My dearest Jasper learned but, it took patience and love.
Adult and kids die every day, every day. To change the violence it will take patience and love. I think of the future, not the present. Most people would have killed Jasper and lost 5 years of a great friend.
Well, if with todays enlightened and global technology, if a required change, equality for all, cannot be done in a generation, then we are all lost as we are too stupid of a species to know how to act morally.

Enlightened and technology does not trump generational almost ingrained memes. Then toss in family and culture. What sounds at first like an easy job of tearing down a wood house becomes a cement house. Yea, its irritating and a disappointment, but, it must be done right. Think of it as getting rid of weeds. Mowing does not work, poison can kill other wanted plants so you must dig those weeds and their roots out carefully so that you do not harm other plants and so the weeds will not come back… To be extra sure you do it before the weed goes to seed. Theistic beliefs are quick to go to seed especially if there is a perceived threat, much the way plants do.
Don’t give up just change methods.
