Is peaceful anarchy possible?

@Kallikantzaros

Even Leonidas was more civil than that.

@MrAuthoritarian

Why though? Do they have the same purpose? I say no, anarchism is transitional, statism is a more permanent outcome..

Sparta did not practice Timocracy…. Athens did….BEFORE Democracy.

Only the mentally capable become citizens, because producing tangible goods requires IQ ad a certain demeanor.

Because statism is more long term it also means more stability.

Not all political transitions are anarchistic either.

@Kallikantzaros

Yeah, we will get along, cause we can discuss things. No agreement required. Might be hard for you to get your head around, but there it is..

I seem to recall Greek non-citizens being sold into slavery in ancient Athens.

@MrAuthoritarian

I have a question for you MrA:

You seem like someone who would like the current system replaced. How is that going to be achieved without transition? What transition do you propose?

And?

Why is that a factor?

Can we not choose to not apply such practices in Timocracy?

For me there is only two possibilities for the future.

1.) Civilization collapse.

Or

2.) Political civil war.

Ehm… so my peaceful anarchy ideas were somehow worse than those outcomes?

Human slavery is what ended both Athens and Rome, especially when all of the slaves converted to Christianity.

Be careful, I might bring Garth Brooks into this thread with some cowboy hat wearing dancing.

At this rate I hate to say it, but the future is going to be horrific no matter what as the consequences of everything is going to catch up with us all. Lots of different interests circulating around while all of this happens going forth.

You might be right. I hope not. But what I advocate is at least trying something.

Also, if people form communities and try to be more self sufficient, they will be more resilient when the shit finally does hit the fan..

I think that I understand what you’re saying, I would only say that I think a political government organization would be more resilient and stronger for the oncoming deluge that is upon us. The nightmare of the oncoming deluge will test the resolve of everybody in the most extreme ways. It’s possible even that human civilization might not even survive afterward for what is coming. That is the kind of consequences I see manifesting on the horizon.

If civilization fails, then we are truly the most idiotic species in the galaxy.

I have more faith, people tend to come up with solutions, sometimes at the last minute, and we are resilient to disaster, history shows that.

Cheer up :wink:

I would say you have more faith in humanity than I do, time will tell.

I tend to lean more cynical and pessimistic.
