There’s a book called the holographic universe that was written a long time ago. Is that was this article is about? I think that book said the same thing. I tried reading the book, but it was a bore.
I haven’t read ‘the holographic universe’ so i wouldn’t know. Ive read ‘Wholeness and the Implicate Order’ by David Bohm which is about this idea. Alot of texts on quatum mechanics make big assumption and then move away from the facts quite quickly giving you a false picture of the implications .
Why was it a bore??
I have a copy of “The Holographic Iniverse”. Bohms is not the only one to suggest our perception of reality is an illusion. It is seems to be fairly common philosophical consideration.
I haven’t read “The Holographic Universe”, as my interest lie elsewhere right now, but when thinking of traveling from a planet, say 20 light years from earth, towards earth, the hologram seems likely to me. It isn’t just a matter of traveling from one planet to earth, but the universe is a web of stars and planets with energy radiating in all directions. What we see of supernovas, stars and planets, light years away, is what happened many light years ago, and is not the present reality. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around that.
Well, everything is energy and nothing is really solid, so you can say it is if you want and I don’t think you’d be wrong.
