I’ve been around now. Not only at ILP but the net in general, other forums, etc.
This place is cool.
People need to open up a little more.
And people to take each other slightly more seriously.
Not even that much.
Just slightly.
Like 12% or something would be good.
But they also need to maintain their sense of humor.
This is not serious.
It’s a brainbash.
A party.
Different people from all over. Different perspectives.
Literally different realities.
Just shooting the shit, more or less.
People need to lighten up.
I can tell you right now almost every post I make is at least 6% tongue-in-cheek.
Another 18% of the time I’m being purposefully cryptic to see if anyone is paying any fucking attention at all.

What is it you want to accomplish posting to the internet?
I think most of you are rather entertaining.
So maybe the collective IQ isn’t 208 like it was in the golden days. This sort of place still attracts the kind of people we want to have around. People come here generally for the right reasons - passion for wisdom, perspective, truth, clarity, psycho-organizing. Whatever. I see new members every day.
Diverse. Not so fucking stupid that it’s unbearable like plenty of places.
Some good laughs. Some really bright people.
People should post more and stop trying to start their own forums.
Stop being so defensive.
