I am writing this in terms of Islam but it can
be applied easily to the NRA, conservatives, Christians, almost any
modern day ideology.
Radical Muslims have attacked and bombed many targets and in
doing so, have killed many innocent men, women and children.
I have heard defenders of Islam saying that Islam is a peaceful
religion and they just want to live their life’s in peace.
However in many of these attacks, I don’t hear of moderates
denouncing these attacks. I only hear of Islamic governments
giving platitudes about these attacks and not really denouncing the attacks.
I say unto you, if you are a moderate muslim and you don’t denounce
these attacks, you, by your silence approve of them. Silence is
approval. silence is acceptance. Silence means you have approved of
your religion being hijacked by extremist. Extremist who are bombing
with your approval which is given by your silence. Deaths of many innocents
in your name with your approval. Is that the Islamic religion? A religion of
death, done in your name. Is the death of innocents really your religion’s
contribution to the world? Your defense might be the Koran demands these
deaths. that is a cowards defense because you are denying responsibility
for your actions. My god demands it’s. Death is wrong regardless of who demands
it and why. To be a believer in death as you suggest Islam is, is being a gutless
coward because you refused to stand up and do the right thing which is
to acknowledge we are deeper and more connected than our ideologies.
Life stands with life in a far deeper way than any simple ideology which is
a surface understanding of the world.
To those who threaten because you feel your religion has been attacked
I say to you, be stronger than a child. Because that is what a child does,
attack those who are different than you. You who issue death threats to
those who you think attacked your religion, you are a coward because you
are so weak even words can hurt you. I allow any person to say anything
to me because I can’t be hurt by their words. I stand taller and stronger than
you, oh believer of Islam because words don’t hurt me unlike you.
My faith and belief is greater than yours because I can withstand
words. Can you withstand words? allah is wrong! mohammed is wrong!
Islam is wrong. And any who attack my words…I stand stronger than you because
of your attacks. Words mean nothing unless I give them value. and once again,
I prove I am stronger than you. Are you so afraid and so weak that you cannot hear
criticism of Islam, criticism of mohammed. I stand stronger than you because I
attack my beliefs with greater strength than you because I can withstand
your small attack on my beliefs with words. and actions?
Are you so small and afraid that you must physically attack when the prophet
is attacked by words, words. You are a coward when doing so. You hide behind
a book, afraid to stand on your own and be counted as a man. So moderates Muslims,
hear my words and ask yourself, do I approve of violence and deaths done in my name
and my religion or do I stand up and denounce the violence and deaths of innocents because
I am a true believer of allah. Because those extremist who kill for allah are cowards and
afraid, because if they actually believed in allah, they wouldn’t kill and they wouldn’t
commit violence in his name. I name Islamic extremist, gutless cowards and those
moderates who won’t condemn those extremist, cowards.
As I said, you can simply replace allah with god or jesus and Islam with christianty
and islam with the NRA and still have the same accusations.
I accuse them of being gutless cowards. Spineless and fearful of their own shadow,
afraid of words.
To your last question: No. It is your caricature of their religion. Quite unfair also if judged by your own ideals. In America everyone is given the courtesy of being counted as innocent until proven guilty. But you do not extend this courtesy to Muslims. This is an unjust discrimination. By your bigotry, moderates around the world are accomplices of the radical Islam barbarity. I think barbarity is not an automatic aspect of islam, thus I do not require moderate muslims to denounce it. It is implied, I think. The denials are there, and you can look, but at some point it is up to you to decide why this is important to you. What does it change. The coffers of radicals are fed by the petro-dollars who happen to be our “allies” because it is convenient. I offer instead a different approach: Engage moderate muslims you may know as persons, and judge them by their actions and not the actions of those that claim to speak for him or her.
If one reads the Bible, Talmud, and Koran entirely all Abrahamic religions are equally despicable considering the amount of violent or nasty references towards nonbelievers in those so called holy books.
I am sorry to say that like most of westerners, you got it wrong too.
How you concluded that all Muslims condone terrorism in the name of Islam? Are you enough informed to give such sweeping statement? What is the basis of your conclusion, other than your mindset and imagination?
Can you show me any such statement of any reputed Islamic organization or religious scholar, who supported killings in the name of Islam? You will find it difficult to gather anything in your support. Give it a try. On the other hand, i can show you many such statements which contradict you, at least double than what you would offer.
This present intruded image of Islam is more because of media than reality. It is unfortunate that people like Baghdadi regularly find place in the headlines but opposite side does not. And, people like you, who neither aware of the ground reality nor want to go to the bottom of the issue, act as a catalyst in spreading rumors, both knowingly and unknowingly.
That is merely how you want to see and represent the Islam, by playing in the hands of people like Baghdadi.
You are acting just as an agent of ISIS. That is precisely what they want; to spread hatred towards Islam in other communities, to create divide, in order to create such distrust that even moderate Muslims would be totally rejected by others, and wound not find any place but surrender to ISIS.
PK, wake up and open your eyes. Do not punch in the air. And, more importantly, do not presume that Osama and Baghdadi represent the majoritarian Islamic view.
