I saw recently that the Latin form of Jesus’s name is “Iésus” (consonantal i), so our name for him is obviously a modification/mutation. Does anyone know what his orginal and proper name was?

I believe the hebrew name is Yeshua or Yohoshua (Joshua), translated into greek Iesous, latin Jesu, than English Jesus, or something like that…
