Evel Knievel has jumped to the other side
-Imp
Oh man! A minute of silence for this incredible person that brought hospitals money from so many parents including mine. The dude was truly an inspiring legend. May his soul rest if he wants it to rest.
The guy was a flake who loved to self adulate in front of the naive crowd. He was a flake because all his stunts were so carefully worked out by engineers, the chances of him failing were slim to none. Jumping a motorcycle over fifteen buses seems daring to the crowd, but after engineers analyze the conditions of the stunt and determine that there is a 99% chance that he succeeds…it suddenly becomes not so awesome.
I can’t stand the guy. In any interview I have ever seen, the guy puts out this false modesty…like he doesn’t think he is so cool. To add to the irony, not only is he lying…but he really isn’t that cool, so he can’t honestly pretend to be cool with his false modesty.
His whole career was a gimmick: everything he ever did was so carefully worked out one might hesitate to call it a real “stunt.”
What would be funny is if, before he performed a stunt, the coordinators told the crowd: “ladies and gentlemen, our scientists have calculated all the forces and natural laws which are applicable to the stunt, and determined that the chances of his bike not making it over the buses are as unlikely as you people pulling your heads out of your asses and spending your money on something other than tickets to see this redneck trash ride around on a bike like he’s superman. Thank you, and enjoy the show.”
