Left Brain/Right Brain test

After a long marriage, if “successful”, partners tend to take opposite aspects from their partners typology… resulting in time by a balance. I for example, am a very, very rare type, but have two kinds of even more different types of women to expect a stable and enjoyable relationship from.

If I was to not select from them, the drive for the woman to change me, and me them would cause us to either break up, or entrench till one yielded imperceptibly over time, accommodating one another in a kind of judo of infinite turns. Whereas she would merely invert and switch aspects, it could lead to a complete destruction of self for me, and my thought process lost. I would be much dumber, but perhaps a better speller. Or she could be torn into adopting two mutually incompatible types, to accommodate my natural range.

Most people just take a left or right hemisphere specialization, where literally that designation is good enough. Where the differ they become similar in codependency… one adopts the style of the others clothing for example. Its funny to see old couples wear similar clothing, they didnt start out that way.

Your husband is being avoidant, but I dont like comming to a conclusion just off that.

Your refusal of accepting knowledge is based in what we would classically call the reason… a value judgment, but begins in the intellect. I basically know, using the shoe analogy, what direction your thought was using, literally the lace and which two loops they went through. But that isnt indicative of a “stable” personality type… I would need more variables to isolate other strands of thoughts.

However… I can say your receptivity to imagination, how you relate to persons personally, lack of anger and acceptance of people in life suggests a strong lateralization, though very specialized, of both frontal lobes.

What stumps me is your lack of active imagination, or visual analogies, or logic for that matter that would be a indicator as how you relate to the single trait you expressed of your husband, who can sit either in the SMAs, or more likely the Thalamus, which can be either hemisphere.

Some personality types naturally straddle both hemispheres. Long married couples should be typed together, and their understanding and frustrating frictions are important in the evaluation process.

I’m sorry Contra, I didn’t mean to insult you by accusing you of obfuscation. I take it back.

Contra, perhaps it would help if you knew that I have extreme dyslexia. In communications of any kind I struggle. If I get emotional, I lose it.
Those closest to me have learned to interpret what I say, thankfully even my bosses have patience.
Logic? Medical analysis and problem solving are my skills and my carvings are requested as gifts and are on display at people’s homes. I still find that humbling, I just give them as gifts. I find the selling of them almost hard or conceited. My friends family and bosses wish differently… So I don’t know.
As far as my husband, avoidance fits very well in some things not most. I would never change him, I love even the annoying parts. And he loves my annoying parts.
Ok well this is all off topic

Dyslexia has more than one pattern, and Apraxia, the particular source of my grammatical and spelling issues, can be mistaken easily for Dyslexia. Apraxia likewise has more than one pattern. Wittgenstein, for example, had it… easy as hell to spot once you know the major variants… he went from a shitheaded bad speller to a shitheaded good language philosopher. Under certain thinking patterns, however, I can become Dyslexic… usually when Im trying to perform introverted Sensory thought and Introverted Intuition (MBTI typology) coupled with a shithead extrovert running interference demanding attention. Or early in the morning when my primary aspects are lagging.

I grew out of most of the Apraxia as I matured. Its a side effect of my thinking style, severe trauma has to be encountered to begin unifying the various motor aspects of the self into a coherent, singular creature. Most people don’t have to experience it, its a region of the brain largely unconscious for them… if they want to dance, they just dance… and it feels great. They aren’t aware of just how complex proprioception is… its slaved and largely directed by other parts of the mind in others, in me it unifies and directs. So I can be a klutz, but can also pull off amazingly complex moves at a very high rate on my own. Not so good via anothers direction though. Its a deeply independent thought style.

I started reversing the Apraxia when I was three, and first had a motor-sensory fit that you would call Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I had little chubby baby hands, and for reasons I was never told, had been getting regular electroanalysis scans via a cap as a child. Guess the docs liked the insides of my head. He had some building blocks in his office, and I started building towers out of it. Higher and higher… but my hands were not steady enough to build it after a certain height, and I would stare at my hands in anger, opening and closing them… grabbing one hand with the other to control it. This was my SMAs trying to assert themselves. However, my Basal Ganglia kicked in at that point, and I imagined a wheel spinning slowly, and I tried to spin it faster… it went faster… then faster, then faster… and I couldn’t stop it. It was maddening, and brought me down to the ground. The image tortured me for along time. I had the Looney Tune character Syvester the Cat, a stuffed animal of him I always carried around.

Had I remained in this state, I would of been diagnosed with severe obsessive compulsive disorder, and a severe speech impediment. Instead, I slowly gained mastery over my mind. I learned to my increments manipulate the wheel, and a variety of other images… at a very early age. I ended up with a balance of Apraxia in both hemispheres. Sometimes resembling behaviors in ADHD in my teens when extroverted. Flat and improper language unless doing debates or accents, etc. However, it increasingly went away, under my control. I speak normal, have a very strong mastery pf language, even injured am a agile fighter. Prior to it, very nimble and athletic.

Dyslexia is linked to Baysian processing of language (left hemisphere) and fuzzy logic, but also Dyslexia is linked to ADHD in the Right.

If left, you should exhibit aspects of Ideational Apraxia, as traits of second tier personality (not your usual personality, but your other sense of thinking when your normal one is confronted negatively, or cant solve the task at hand, or jyst tired). If right, you should show aspects of ADHD as secondary traits. If neither, its likely another aspect of apraxia your branching off on unknowingly.

Its a tad bit easier for me to track this than most psychologists, as I still feel it, and can track it in myself. Its actually a normal aspect of everyone, just most people never had consistently think using this complex in the mind consistently. I was born somehow with high receptivity to it. Sucked growing up, but I can run mental circles around your average strong minded thinker. We all exhibit aspects of it from time to time.

When did I lecture you? I know that I am not above lecturing people …as a matter of fact I may have a propensity for it . My stream of consciousness sometimes just takes over. But I don’t recall ever lecturing you. Please point to the post in which you FEEL I did this.

Aside from that, I would have never in a million years known that you have extreme dyslexia. You are stupendous to me and all I can say to you is…

YOU GO GIRL!!!

My apologies, it was that post you made right after mine. The work by
Kendra Cherry…
I was amused by the connection to what I said. It was just a tease. And I feel the same about you,

Bitch :romance-heartsmiley:

It’s OK, though.

You go girl? So you couldn’t color code and bedazzle the font too Arc?

I want to see you bedazzle your font…

I have been wearing a live cat on my head since 2008, I think I’m bedazzled enough.

Yes, that is true, you are handsomely bedazzled but, your font does not have the adorable cat.

Fuck you all, I’m going home.

71, over on the right side.

But aren’t you great at math, Amorphos?

Why apologize? You did nothing wrong.
Do you know that I was actually going to open a thread a few weeks ago about the reasons that people apologize - for absolutely no reason…another Sandbox thread for me. I may do that yet. I kind of put it on the back burner.

Anyway, I re-considered what you thought and figured you were referring to a post that I had written and then later on re-considered because it was faulty or at least didn’t give enough information. I then “edited” and deleted that post and put in the Kendra Cherry hyperlink which was more informative and made more sense to me.

The post which I previousy had and then deleted was to the effect that those people who didn’t finish the test didn’t finish it because they didn’t like to plow through something which to them was too simplied or made them uncomfortable…something to that effect anyway. That’s kind of paraphrased. But then i thought better of it. There could be any number of reasons besides that one why they chose not to finish the test. I don’t so much like seeing things with tunnel vision - though at times I do.

Mathematicians can be based out of either hemisphere, and the best show extensive cross coordination, which was realized and promoted in the early 20th century.

Buckminister Fuller is the most complex thinker I know, dancing across both. Its difficult sometimes to map the path he uses… but everytime I map out a sequencing and emulate to be sure, I have it. Sanjay would really be upset with his Ontological stability… the bulk of his ideas end up in the right hemisphere.

Though I don’t usually go out of my way to accomodate, I will here.

YOU GO GIRL!!!

There, is that any better for you, CN? Personally, I thought the Bold was better. But maybe not.

KRISSY

Do you like that better? :evilfun:

Don’t you feel a little nuts after doing that - or is there a pattern to it. It almost appears to be code. Well, code does have a pattern to it or does it really? If it did, it wouldn’t be a good code or is my thinking faulty here?

Now I have to go back and re-read what you wrote. I forgot it. lol

Okay, now that is interesting. I would have thought that mathematician would be more left brained.
But I guess mathematicians, astrophysicists, et cetera might have to be both. Their imaginations and creativity would also be responsible for their discoveries. Is that true?

Don’t you think it’s about time you gave him his freedom? He’s served you well, hasn’t he?
Also, better live than dead. Is that your cat? #-o

No, Geometry for example is right hemisphere. So are multiplicities, spacial facts, most kinds of images, axiomatic structures take the bulk of their form from it, the selection of an idea over another, a sense of completion. Aesthetics largely occur there on the appreciation level.

However, its not the root of mathematical thought. Its nothing by itself.
