I don’t believe the law is justified, I simply believe that the people involved in making and enforcing the law happen to have a lot more knowledge about it than I do.

My argument was simply that laws protecting natural spaces make sense as a general rule, all other things being equal, and that if a person enters such a legally protected space and starts shooting wildlife with a shotgun then it makes perfect sense to charge that person with a crime and jail them.
According to the story this is what the man is charged with doing. IF he actually did it and IF that can be demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt or whatever legal standard of proof the court requires, then certainly he should suffer whatever consequences are imposed by law.
Obviously if he didn’t do the act, or they can’t prove he did it, then of course he should not suffer those consequences.
This really isn’t hard.
This kind of attitude is exactly why society sucks and is garbage.

Seems like you didn’t understand that I was making a specific defense of specific kinds of laws, namely those designed to protect natural spaces and where a real justification exists for such protections.
