Hi all,
I’m new to this forum. Let me start straight away. I have something for Kiarostami (a famous contemporary film maker from Iran) fans. A discussion between Kiarostami and Jean Luc-Nancy. I liked Nancy’s philosophical take in this discussion. Go to this post and download.
Correct me if im wrong, but do I smell a spammer? Who the hell else would dig up an old post and provide a link to some random website which involves downloading. If you had genuine intent of adding to the discussion then I forgive you.
I have Cinema Paradiso - it is such a sweet film, so romantic and sentimental, overly so, but yet, fully affecting in its impact, a sincere movies-movie.
I can’t believe you chose ‘Jurassic Park’ you silly evolutionary athiest. God will flog you with his holy bat of love.
I thought Death in Venice was interesting…but in the final analysis…long winded…a pretensious look at old age, voyuerism, pasty youth and vague notions of pederasty…
What are you on about? I’m not an evolutionary atheist…
I was being somewhat daft when I said Jurassic Park, if I were to pick another I’d have to admit that I found One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest to be very powerful…
‘My Life as a Dog’ - excellent Swedish film about a boy his dying mother a dog in space and eccentric families.
‘City of God’ - Boyz n the hood with substance and great style…great protrugese film, bound to get you thinking…in terms of social issues or even about the process of filming…
‘American Psycho’ - not the best film, but Christian Bale gives a mighty hysterical performance as Patrick Bateman.
‘My life is a dog’ is excellent…certainly not in the Hollywood sense…it has a whimsical feel…a sort of coming of age story…with a lot of humour…not a movie of suspense or thrill…but more nostalgic…a sweet sigh and look at the human condition through the eyes of a curious boy…
