It is my opinion that most virtues are self-rewarding.
A virtue tends to never harm and only benifite.
We can sacrifice the species for a minority to get high off of inequality,
but morals pays better in long-term and in the big picture.
Atheists have been trying to say that you can have a brain and a heart
even if you don’t have a religion. I’m agreeing with that point.
Religion isn’t all evil but it’s a flawed device and we need some
real answers. The founders of religion and the heros are dead,
or in another dimension, and it’s really far from home.
I think atheists and theists will both die if our system fails
so i think they should both work together better than they are.
I think both can work together, at least in secular democracies. People do it all the time at their jobs or when participating in civic society. There just needs to be ground rules for no talk of religion or religious preferences in venues outside of appropriate settings, like in a private home or at church gatherings. And support the strengthening of separation of church and state, since we all can (and should) do ‘state’, but we don’t all do ‘church’.
