The reason the GOP is hiding it is because they are hoping to
get to 3 months before the election thus having the Governor
of Ky to select the next senator and not via election which is what
would happen if it is announced today… and that is typical
GOP/MAGA crap that is quite common… which leads me to
a point… in that there needs to be changes in regards to
public officials… first, it is clear that no one over 75 should
be or can be elected president ever again… that there has
to be term limits for all congressmen and senators… perhaps
12 years in both cases, and equally as important, term limits
for the Judges in the court system…especially the US Supreme court…
and incidentally, we have multiple court judges over 75…
Thomas is 78 and Alito is 76… under the rules, both should be
gone, and Roberts is 71 but has been on the bench over 25 years…
under these rules, we never would have had either Biden or
IQ45…so the rules hit equally on both left and right…
I believe that part of the problems today is due to both the
age problem and term limit problem…
They choose the most corrupt senators to lead that can be bought out for the highest bidder, but that phenomena can be found on both political aisles concerning democrats or republicans alike.
Does this have anything to do with philosophy? Cause at least throw political trash like this into current events/non-philosophical chat if its only about your political affiliation and nothing else

My understanding of benefits might be limited when it comes to term limits, but you seem to be lacking the understanding of it’s disadvantages and drawbacks as well.
In an attempt to remove the chance of singular individuals consolidating too much power in the government, you created the exact same problem except now all of it is behind the curtains, moving everything through the force of interest and influence.
Even if we go with the worst possible interpretation of a dictator clawing all the power to himself, it’d be not even a tenth as devastating of a cancer on a nation, than the type of backroom shadown government you have created in america that can be barely named, fck held accountable or removed.

Term limits have a hundred times more downsides even under the worst of circumstances, than they have upsides. Its what leads to situations where people like George Soros simply buy half of the united state’s law enforcement system by putting activists into every facet of government.
