Name me one album that appeals to all types of people.

You are going on a road trip with a goth, a soccor mom, a preppy teen, a business man, and a football player. What one album would you play that everyone would like?

Here is my best shot.

Everybody loves The Beatles.

Pretty Hate Machine is the one I keep pulling out for the car pool.

Kids seem to love it.

Pretty Hate Machine = Epic fail.

Soccor mom does NOT listen to Pretty Hate Machine. Neither does preppy teenager.

Hard to believe.

Led Zeppelin’s Untitled fourth album.

You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you, so, instead, I’ll offer one that you can actually wrap your brain around.

CCR

Maybe they’d all enjoy the Bach Chaconne?

Billy Idol-Greatest Hits

The preppy teen and soccer Mom still think he is hot. The gothic kid respects him because he was one of the initiators of punk becoming popular. The business man appreciates him from a nostalgia standpoint.

Billy Joel?

Punk?

:sunglasses:

Simple, I would play Any of Bill Cosby’s albums.

OOps. Sorry. Wicked high.

Complete Birth of the Cool

Billy Idol = Epic fail

No preppy teens are listening to that shit. They are listening to other shit but not that shit.

Epic fall? It’s a nice day to start again.

Oh please most of the songs kids listen to are remakes anyway. Kids just don’t realize it nor do the parents. I hear my son’s music all the time and I have heard quite a number of remakes some good, some awful.

No most songs that kids listen to are not remakes. Dont you dare imply that todays music (Lil Wayne, Nickelback, Carrie Underwood) is somehow on equal footing with the popular music say in the 60’s (Led Zep, The Beatles, Rolling Stones)

Billy Idol is craptacular. Heck, “Metal Guy” hates him because he was a monster sell out and bastardized a noble sound.

Epic Fail ban imo

I did not say equal footing but, really listen to them they are remakes from old songs. I even heard a Patsy Kline remake done by some band that does the same type of music Robb Zombie does, It was not too bad. The music is different but, the lyrics are the same. Blew me a way to hear Patsy’s song done in such a way.
