Name me one album that appeals to all types of people.

Excellent point, one of the best I have heard regarding this topic.

Maynard James Keenan, how about Eric Clapton?

Oh, yes, I saw you mention earlier that noone under the age of thrity has heard of Bruce Springsteen, even if that were true, how does that necessarily mean that a Bruce Springsteen album would not appeal to all of the aforementioned people? I’m sure there is music out there that would appeal to me from artists I have not yet heard of.

I think it’s safe to assume Maynard is the only one qualified to determine what kind of music would appeal to various people.

precisely

Did someone say something? I thought I heard my name in here…

I did, answer my questions please.

What was your question? Eric Clapton = fail but it wasnt too bad.

Thanks, I’ve gotten the idea that, “wasn’t too bad,” is about the best I am going to do on this topic, but you did give me props on my football knowledge (I am going to reply to you in detail on that topic later tonight) so I have to admit you try to be fair in your assessments.

Here is my question:

“Oh, yes, I saw you mention earlier that noone under the age of thrity has heard of Bruce Springsteen, even if that were true, how does that necessarily mean that a Bruce Springsteen album would not appeal to all of the aforementioned people? I’m sure there is music out there that would appeal to me from artists I have not yet heard of.”

Thankyou. I did not see that.

Bruce wont work because his music isnt accessable enough for teenagers or soccor mom. He’s influenced by folk and singer/songwriter stuff too much. He also tends to be pretty dark for the average music fan. Im not saying he isnt awesome but I dont think any of his material would be suitable for a road trip in the aformentioned hypothetical. It isnt that “people havent heard of him” that disqualifies his stuff though.

I honestly cant think of a single “group” of people that doesnt like this song at least a little bit…youtube.com/watch?v=4u2GpQzEu3Y

My last try, Flogging Molly.

MUCH BETTER

Thanks. Two years ago, when my wife and I went on a two-week road trip Flogging Molly was about 50% of everything we listened to.

Personal experience. Its like fate drove you to this thread.

Hurry up and comment on Notre Dame football. I cant get Charlie Weiss out of my mind!

All in due time, I am having trouble getting over losing 80 minutes of work.

Charlie Weiss and I are very dissapointed with you. We will wait.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Born in the USA, I’m Goin’ Down, The Promised Land, inaccessible?

Thanks

The original version of that comment was rather less polite, but it’s good to know the message got across anyway
