Nietzsche is a clown

Hehehe!

“perhaps I am a buffoon”

Critics of Nietzsche like to think of him as a vicious man made bitter from sickness and failure with women. This may or may not be true. But what is true is the modesty and humility he expresses in many of his aphorisms. In a sense he did two insightful things- he saw himself as a reader or contemporary would see him, and could anticipate the reaction. He therefore did not want to be misunderstood; he was the first to admit the absurd, the chance that he was a buffoon, before setting the tone of the megalomaniac superman philosopher with a hammer. This is tasteful, really, and would be good material for a private joke among Nietzsche and his friends:

Critic: “Nietzsche you are a madman crackpot failure who should be put out of his misery!”

Nietzsche: “I already thought of that you idiot.”

Looks like a clown from where I’m standing??? :-k
