Non-Cognitive Philosophy

Ive asked alot of hard questions in my time as well as alot of questions that have been pondered over for thousands of years, without there being any sort of conclusive answer. Im sure you know the ones im talking about. In these cases I have had to follow my nose as it were and hope for the best. These insticts are not simply hit and miss pure guessing tactics although they may seem so from an outside perspective. But have a tendancy of being right a large percentage of the time. We all use them at some time or another, and dont say that you dont because everyone does at some point.

In many situations having a well thought out strategy just does not work, romance for example is very limited by logical thinking, we can see this by observing the emotionally unintelegant ie nerds etc and their lack of pulling prowess. No isult intended btw just making a point.
In other situations thinking too much can cause mental instability, such as OCD. Questions of morality can be twisted and turned by reasoned thought patterns to make anything ok to do, I saw a thread on here called why is rape wrong? Why even think about it, when we all know in our hearts for it to be so. I think this twsting of questions of morality (Which should be answered from the heart not the head) are a big problem with the interpritations of various holy scriptures over the centuries. In my personal experience I belive I have learned alot more about life by letting go more and living it. I think we could ask questions about life untill we die and not find the answers we are looking for when a much more mentally slow person can feel the fulfillment of life just by experiencing it. After all you can explain to someone what love is like but you will not understand it fully untill you have experienced it.

Im not saying lets stop thinking, but just to remember that philosophy, is not always the best solution, cirtainly not the only one. I think alot of people forget this.

Your post was more a statement than a question.

Logic and reason have limits, and they are simply cages for mind control and self-limitation.

OCD truly can be caused by over-thinking, but that kind of thinking is bullshit, anyways. Why? It keeps on asking the wrong question, again and again and again, it wants the wrong kind of proof, and eventually it goes insane.

Most people don’t realize that the founders of both the sciences and the religions were mentally ill people, just like the politicians. Everyone from Winston Churchil to Dawrin, they were mentally ill nutters. Their ideas got famous by the same mechanism that makes beer and smokes famous.

All things famous, common, acceptable and normal
Are insane low scum.

Thanks for the rant

Which philosophy? That’s the rub.

Common sense is a pre-built “philosophy” of the human brain. It is good at what it does, with the “axioms” it uses. It’s not perfect, but in a pinch, evolution has resulted in a useful system. Some people are not diligent enough to develop outside of common sense to any great degree. Some do.
