Original Sin - What was it?

All myths contain truth.

Let’s not forget that not too long ago Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey were considered as “fairy taleS”. Until we discovered Troy… People in the past did not waste time and effort to write fairy tales. Writting was too previous to spend it like that.

What could be the truth behind the story of the Original Sin? [gr. Προπατορικό αμάρτημα]

Freud believed that it must have something to do with a murder, since God in order to aleviate it sent his Son to be killed for humanity to be forgiven. [see http://librarum.org/book/24927/2442]

I believe that the story of the Original Sin contains some hidden philosophical knowledge about what we once KNEW and we have now forgotten. Once upon a time we knew how important we were as entities. Now, after analyzing so much things, after trying to UNDERSTAND, we have destroyed that KNOWLEDGE we once had. As Shestov says, every time you try to understand something, you destroy it by trying to put it into the little boxes you have in your mind.

But this is me.

What about you?

Which important message and wisdom could be hidden in the story of Original Sin?

Original sin is sexual intercourse, particularly referring to the penetration of the penis into the virgin hymen, rupturing and hemorrhaging it, drawing blood.

This drawing of blood symbolizes the necessary pain involved in recreating life, along with the pain of child birth that results from this sex.

Original sin is analogous to the evolution of di-sexuality. Complex organisms became sexual. Whereas base organisms are asexual, like cells, bacteria, and viruses, which can reproduce without male female sexual identity and organs. Original sin must have first occurred when organisms evolved the complexity and sophistication of sexual roles. The basic male female roles are ones of dominance and submission, penetration and reception. The female receives sperm. The male injects it into the female body.

The pain is symbolic of the necessity of evil in nature, along with male competition over occupation of females. Men want to “own” women. And women similarly want to “be owned” by the most powerful men.

That is merely the “Santa Claus” version of the story.

They were referring to taking on (“consuming the fruit of”) the ontology of “Good and Evil” as their understanding of how to manage paradise. Instead of thinking in terms of varying degrees of good and just managing what was available, they accepted the idea of a standard, beneath which was bad and above which was good (standardized moral condemnation). Eve saw that by dictating the standard and using false flags, they could be “as gods” and was tempted.

The “Original Sin” was falling to the temptation of presuming to be God and control all things (not really any different than today). People are “born in sin” simply because their parent’s generation never really gave it up. Once monkeys are certain that they can control all things, they have a really hard time not trying to do it.

It is only related to sex in that by doing that, they were fucked (literally meaning “divided up”).

Lack of Communication - in questioning any and all authority.
A lack of intercourse - the nonsexual type of course.

Pride.

That might just go hand in hand with what i wrote above. Pride sometimes comes from low self-esteem I think and a lack of knowing who one is or is becoming, personal identity.

Pride comes from wanting to be more than one is.

Lack of communication with what/ who?

The Fall into self-conscious mind at the expense of knowing who and what we are. Having to relearn our place in the universe, which had been a given fact. According to Matthew Fox there was only original blessing. The sin is forgetting this.

Oh, Jimmy. Not wanting to assume here, are you speaking in a positive light or a negative one?

The pride I was speaking of is Ego.

Well, duh, God of course. Why can’t we eat do this? Why can’t we compromise? Then there might have been a greater discussion between adam and eve too. Do we really want to risk everything just for the damn tree?

Maybe Jesus is the tree of life.

You mean in the GofE?

You mean in the GofE?[/
Yes.

But Ierrellus, Christ hadn’t as of yet issued forth from his Father. #-o

But I suppose that to many christians, Christ would be considered the tree of life.

It can be argued that Jesus was with God at the creation of humans as an aspect of God (Logos).

That’s what I meant when I said that Christ hadn’t as of yet issued forth from his Father. But that really doesn’t mean much, does it. The Holy Trinity is impossible to fathom I think. This is it explained in easy terms

everystudent.com/forum/trinity.html

What about the doctrine of the Trinity, the Holy Trinity?"

our A: You and I live in a three-dimensional world. All physical objects have a certain height, width, and depth. One person can look like someone else, or behave like someone else, or even sound like someone else. But a person cannot actually be the same as another person. They are distinct individuals.

God, however, lives without the limitations of a three-dimensional universe. He is spirit. And he is infinitely more complex than we are.

That is why Jesus the Son can be different from the Father. And, yet the same.

The Bible clearly speaks of: God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. But emphasizes that there is only ONE God.

If we were to use math, it would not be, 1+1+1=3. It would be 1x1x1=1. God is a triune God.

Thus the term: “Tri” meaning three, and “Unity” meaning one, Tri+Unity = Trinity. It is a way of acknowledging what the Bible reveals to us about God, that God is yet three “Persons” who have the same essence of deity. Some have tried to give human illustrations for the Trinity, such as H2O being water, ice and steam (all different forms, but all are H2O). Another illustration is an egg having a shell, egg yolk and egg white, but this egg illustration shows that there would be “parts” to God, which isn’t the case.

God the Son (Jesus) is fully, completely God. God the Father is fully, completely God. And God the Holy Spirit is fully, completely God. Yet there is only one God. In our world, with our limited human experience, it’s tough to understand the Trinity. But from the beginning we see God this way in Scripture. Notice the plural pronouns “us” and “our” in Genesis 1:26 – Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” *****

I know all of this but it explains nothing in a way that I would want it explained.

What I would like to know is where was Christ and the Holy Spirit when the Word was first spoken? I might explain this away in terms of evolution and transformation but Christ and the Holy Spirit presumably were always part and parcel with God.
