Philosopher Child

This thread will be dedicated to my project, to pass on the wealth of all human knowledge, to future generations.

There is a philosophical type of person. This type is the most curious, the most lacking knowledge, the most ignorant and innocent. This type begins to feel different in his youth, as a young boy and teenager. He is already filled with Doubt from a young age. He doubts his friends. He doubts his school teachers. He even doubts his family members, mother, and father. There must be some kind of “higher” source of knowledge and wisdom, in life, in the world. There must be somebody who knows truth, knowledge, wisdom. This is the philosopher child. He is filled with some unique type of mistrust, or distrust. It is not that his peers cannot be trusted per se, but, they lack a certain desire or drive toward higher knowledge.

Most children blindly accept what their educators, peers, and parents teach them. They accept this as truth. In the religious form, Christian children are educated and taught that God is this absolute authority. And nobody can achieve this, come close to it, and especially not transcend God. You, cannot transcend God. There are limits in place. All these limits confront the philosopher child. He is made to feel humiliated, stupid, pathetic, weak. All these limits are placed upon him, like slavery, from all the adults and authorities of society. Think of all the people of your society, country, nation, people, humanity on Earth, placing all of their limitations, laws, and impossibility onto the mind of one young boy.

This is the lament and suffering of the philosopher child. All are against him. All want to crush him, weigh on him, push against him, like an immense source of gravity. This gravity of his wisdom, represents his potential.

I believe, honestly, sincerely, and seriously, that all the humans of Earth do not want this philosopher child to “grow” or “succeed” or “be happy” or “have a good life”. Instead, I view human nature in the negative. Nobody, or perhaps a very few, rare exceptions, actually have a positive inclination toward this philosopher child. Most people, most humanity, want to cut into him, oppress him, suppress him, call him stupid, destroy him, torture him. And the reason why the philosopher child is confronted by this oppression, is due to the limitations which all others have come to accept. Other children, all the other children, accept their slavery. They accept their oppression and this hatred placed onto them, and injected into them, by all their peers, parents, and professors. They accept the limits. And they resent anybody who does not accept the “Law” as instructed, indoctrinated, and inculcated into them.

Again, the Christian indoctrination best reflects this social phenomenon. If a child rejects God, inside a Christian community, then this boy is the devil. He is a demon. He ought to leave the church, or be burned in a fire as an example to other children. You do not go against God. The philosopher child is a direct, and most immediate threat to society at large. Because this phenomenon we all call “society”, is an oppressive system in its innermost core.

The philosopher child is a necessary, naturally recurring “anomaly” within the system. This child is The One. He is a necessary product of the system, society, human society, all earthly societies. He must, at once, maintain his doubt under all scrutiny on one hand. And then blend in, lie, and fit in with society on the other. He must doubt inside his mind, privately, but speak with the system, go with the flow, along the party lines, publicly. His public voice is opposite of his inner private voice.

The philosopher child must learn to lie, at the youngest possible age. Because if he does not, then the rest of his peers will come down on him, for “going against God”, and expel him from society, or worse–crucify Him.

This thread will be a preliminary work. How do we locate this philosopher child? How do we identify him? How do we define concepts such as curiosity, truth, knowledge, wisdom, of which the philosopher child values above other values?

A noble aspiration!

Although I do have a couple of questions.

Are you happy to take questions?

In case you didn’t know, the dude’s been perma-banned on at least one previous account, and therefore this one too - subject to forum rules. So he probably won’t be taking questions, whether he would be happy to or not.

I read this OP up until this point expecting you to have been talking about yourself.
Perhaps you were, and you’re looking for a kindred spirit or a better/a teacher. Either way, someone to vest your hopes in.

I would imagine that this discription fits many people, probably a few who post here. I know the vast majority of it applies to my past, though perhaps with less drama than that which you’re attaching to your narrative - in no small part due to the fact that I’m not American, although I was brought up in a somewhat Christian environment. What I mean is that here, it wasn’t that big a deal that I never took to it - I hear it’s a lot more serious, in some parts more than others, on the other side of the pond.

I am no victim, despite my past, since as you said I learned to act/lie. Even though it took a very long time, now I mostly blend in. It’s not that the world is against you, it just doesn’t know what to do with you. And that causes a certain degree of rejection - in both directions - not a problem for an introverted schizoid such as myself (though perhaps this was something at least partially learned and reluctantly accepted in the earliers years). These days it’s a pleasure to reject and be rejected. When in the public eye, stick to the superficial, the inoffensive and get good at banter and it’s rare that anyone will want to see anything deeper. Those that do will either reject you or they will admire you - the latter intuit that you have wisdom and will be grateful that you are in their life. Wisdom is useful. Learn a dummy personality for the former.

Anyway, I’m sure many have been faced with the same.

Perhaps this was your intention. Create the impression of rarity and secret greatness, attribute it only to a very select few, but end up with many who respond to your narrative, despite most of them being unsuitable toward your intended ends. This was Nietzsche’s fate, whose ideas you are basically plageurising. See The Three Metamorphoses that open the first book of Zarathustra, combined with the fourth book’s search for the Higher Man.

Curiosity: the drive to explore, whether physically or intellectually. Derived from a need for stimulation and inspiration.
Truth: not that which is experienced itself, as so many take it to mean, but the artful translation of it into a different form (such as a verbal description) that is “true to” experience - that is to say, consistent with it as much as a translation can be.
Knowledge: attempts to formulate truth with some degree of success (and usually use too).
Wisdom: attained through a refinement of some degree of knowledge, such that curiosity may be more efficiently directed towards truth.

Perhaps his intention was to create an illusion of mystery or whatever, however it's hard to say, I don't get to know him well enough. However, there in the child is this impression of a happy go lucky being, carefree, playful, and exploratively creative.

This gives the impression, that such naivete, does not mask, the pain of alienation related the forgetting of what the camel, the lion, and finally the dragon had to go to transform themselves.

It is a reinstatement to us children lest we forget, of what we, as children's children, have to recapture,(o get to know the sad truth; that the pain and suffering of transformation is nothing unique, but it's best to take a child's attitude toward it if we plan to remain sane.
