pick cba's career

im going into college and i feel like im wasting money taking liberal arts. its just i have way too many interests and i get distracted by them all relatively quick. i cant try them out at school because it costs too much money and i dont want to dedicate my time to anything and find out i dont like it so im kinda stuck.

anyway… im thinking computers because i dont want to get old and be confused by the blinking lights but its a pretty boring field and i dont think id want to sit in a small office doing lame computer shit before i get the option of doing cool computer shit. plus i cant see myself sitting at a computer for 8 hours 5 days a week. that seems shitty.

so i was thinking politics but that seems kinda shitty and im not exactly a great speaker or someone that actually cares about the little details of peoples lives. i just want to make the world a different place overall which would be a radical change and something im sure no one would be up for which would mean id have to do a lot of lying and a lot of bullshit which isnt my thing nor is it very plausible because i doubt id be able to hold face long enough to get myself in a very good position.

so i was thinking music which is one of my big loves but unless im a rock star im goign to be very hungry a lot. same with art unless i wanted to go to computers but again computers = pretty boring.

i was thinking writing because its diverse and covers lots of topics which could keep me interested but i dont know if id be dedicated to the topics or even care about them. plus it doesnt seem like im working then which i feel would keep me looking for something more to satisfy my need to make a difference.

any sort of science i think id get bored of though i love them all.

i was thinking business too but i dont care about money unless im going to be rich. if im super rich than thats really cool but if im not than i dont care about being super rich.

Colleges and Universities usually allow you to take a broad spectrum of courses the first year, in order to help you figure out what it is you want to do. Pick a major any major, but take a broad spectrum of courses, then you can always switch majors when you get to second year and it won’t hurt you in any way.

You and I have common interests so I’ll give you my two cents.
In college, I was in the fine arts program yet I didn’t want to starve either so I went for Art therapy. Not sure if it would interest you or not, but I loved it. You learn more about yourself through other people. Learning about other people was and is an avenue to yourself as well as helping them out too.
On the other hand you could be an art critic and write for some art magazine or something.
Cartoons are cool, however I think it would be a little frustrating.
If you have your own Gallery then you might not starve as a fine artist, although location is key.
I know, a political cartoonist.
And there you have it.

magius yea i was going to attempt that. its just i have so many interests and so little time. plus theres things i believe i need to know as well as things i want to know. last night i spent a couple hours (still not done) mapping out my school plans for the next couple of years and actually realized how much time im going to have to put into this. hopefully ill enjoy it all/will even be able to do it.

ah thanks heather. political cartoonist that is an awesome idea. though i dont think i can make a living off that i will definately add that to my list of things to do. what do you mean by gallery though?

I mean by if you are an artist and want to sell your art, then you could open your own gallery so that you skip the trying to get into galleries thing. As long as people would buy your work, then you wouldn’t starve.

that would be cool but what really sells nowadays? i wouldnt even know where to begin.

sell your thoughts on a canvas.
