Pre-historic Man And How They Lived.

One of my favorite new hobbies is reading about pre-historic man and how he lived.

I am one of those odd people who find pleasure in studying wilderness survival. In reading about pre-historic man and how he lived I am learning alot of nifty things in how they hunted or survived.

Like:

  1. Rock flaking in building arrow heads, knives and spears.

  2. Bone flaking. Is basically where you take bones in making tools and such out of them.

  3. Primitive agriculture.

  4. Primitive shelters and winter survival.

  5. Primitive fishing techniques.

  6. Primitive water irrigation.

  7. Traps.

  8. Early pottery in how early man stored water.

Most reading this thread probally think I am a nerd for being interested in these things but oh well.

I don’t know how man procreated back then… they weren’t pretty.

Neither were the women.

Somebody’s superficial!

Yes…I’ve had a fascination with native americans for years. I’ve recently become interested in the old tribes of Europe especially the Celts.

I haven’t been practising primitive skills as much as I ought…Still haven’t really mastered the bow drill.

So have you tried flint knapping yet Joker?

I will take that as an immense compliment: of which I’m sure you meant it to be!

Hahaha

“Okay, first of all, I’m not 100% in love with your tone right now.”

I have only recently started flint knapping and rock flaking. So far I am very terrible at it.

( I improvise by attaching a hunting knife at the end of a staff in order to make a spear.)

( Eventually through practice I would like to get better at flint knapping and rock flaking.)

As for the bow drill in making a fire I prefer fire sawing.

…looking like that, I’m glad you’re not! :astonished:

i don’t even think a shave/male grooming, would make that guy look any better! :-s
