Hi mods,

My pm replies and messages are not getting out of the Outbox and do not reach the person. Can you help?

that just means those people aren’t reading it. not that they didn’t get it.

I thought if it stayed in the Outbox, that it hadn’t been sent.

I’m not sure, but that’s how I interpreted it. Send me a message, and I’ll not read it, tell me if it stays in the outbox.

I sent a pm titled “test - don’t open.”

But, actually, wouldn’t it work better if you did open it and I can then see if the msg moves to the sent box?

alright, so if it stays in the outbox…you’re right, it means it hasn’t even gotten to their inbox yet.

Well, then, I don’t understand why the msg I sent you went to Sent, while the others didn’t.

I sent a pm to Pav on this problem, but it’s still in the Outbox, along with two others. My pm to Humpty went through, but not the others.

I was wondering why those 3 pm’s did not go through and wind up in the Sent box like Humpty’s did.

I think that just accessing the inbox will cause it to move to ‘sent’. I have a bunch of PMs in my own outbox that were sent to people who haven’t returned, for one reason or another.

In any case, it’s normal for PMs to sit in the outbox after they’ve been sent. They don’t go to the sentbox immediately. Pav’s should move once he checks his messages.

I responded to your PM, so the one you sent me should be in the Sentbox.

I’m sorry that took so long, I’m almost never on until (my) evening hours.

Although, if you check the timestamp of this post and the one on the PM, (or the timestamp of any post I made today), you’ll see that I responded to your PM before doing anything else because I’m :sunglasses: like that.

I think I get it now. The msg stays in the Outbox until the person opens it, and then it moves to the Sent box.

Feel free to send me any other PM’s having to do with Board functions. Anyone can, really. I’m an idiot when it comes to general technical stuff, but I’ve pretty much tried out every function on this Board that can be done.
