what type of people (personality type) study/are interested in Philosophy ?
All kinds.
Philosophers.
… it kind of depends on your personality profile categories.
The first category is of such people who are curious.
The second category is of those people who think that they are more intelligent than others, which can be either true or false.
My understanding is that, over the time, the first category is losing ground to the second category.

Seekers, adventurers, those who are willing to let no stone go unturned, kind of like the archaeologists. Oh, we also cannot forget the deep-sea divers.
They are legion.
Those looking for the holy grail even though they realize they may never find it and if and when they do, they may discover that it is entirely different from what they thought. The journey, the seeking in and of itself is kind of like to the holy grail what the scent of the rose is to the flower.
The one’s who aren’t afraid to get wet, but then again I see a lot of people who are still afraid to get wet, and when they do, they struggle in the sea and and against the tides to drown instead of flowing with it.
