Yeah… basically, Anti-Semetic groups in Europe started a economic boycott of Israel for the same reasons they always have, and then as expected, the left jumped on board, due to the equation Jews = Evil, therefore Palestinians = Good, irrespective of circumstance (they could of done this at any point of time, decades ago, just now got steam, isn’t based on current happenings).
This put a lot of political pressure on trade, and so in the Knesset, politicians are blaming one another on who is to blame. No one is to blame, just Neo-Nazis in Europe.
This is happening as ISIS is expanding in the Sanai, and seemingly defeating Egyptian military offensives (I can’t honestly tell at times who won what battle). ISIS also infiltrated GAZA, and is a contender for control of it, so that portion of the Palestinian Authority, which many countries on the far left spectrum, claim is, or are the verge of declaring, is a independent country.
This has caused all sorts of mahyem in both Jewish and Islamic Society. The Shiites are trying to save face from backing Bashir in Syria (who is losing bad) by threatening to attack Israel’s Northern Border with missiles, so Israel moved it’s Iron Dome to defend the Northern Border against middle attacks.
While this is happening, the Druze community is Israel is going nuts cause their cousins in Syria are getting killed, and want a mass opening of Druze refugees… Israel is a socialist and secular country (highest rate of atheism on earth), and this is panicking everyone, as their economy funds the socialism, is on the shrink, and can’t easily absorb a mass influx.
So Israel faces this complex:
Losing its ally in the West, Egypt… they have been allies since the end of the Arab-Israeli War.
Gaza becoming ISIS, with Euro-Nazis sympathy and export access.
ISIS becoming a new faction in the politics of West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Shiites assaulting the North without cause or provocation
Deep pressure to monitor Syrian/Jordanian border area from Islamic State Penetration.
Obama has also recently passed the initial stages of a treaty that effectively allows Iran to build a nuclear weapon to destroy Israel, or perspective allies in the middle east (like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Turkey, Egypt), this scares the living daylights out of them in exactly the same way the US was scared during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Obama has effectively forced Israel’s hand in launching airstrikes on Iran, I give it 80% certainty within two years. He more or less ensured a regional war, they now have no real choice but to fight or die.
The Druze tipped the scales. In Israel, the Orthodox factions are freaking out, as they are seeing Israel losing its true path, which is following God. A lot of Jews says idiotically you can be a Jew and Atheist at the same time, but anyone who read the Torah knows this isn’t realistic. It might be the majority philosophy, but it is one symmetrically in opposition to the reality of their written texts stretching back millennium, and when pressured, societybassert conservative values, not liberal as a general rule, as its what worked in the past (or at least it seems to of worked, its a debate for historians).
Also freaking them out… as Europe and Turkey become increasingly hostile to the Jewish identity, the Orthodox assert the authentic Jewish identity to absorb its place, and seek to correct contradictions with foreign thinking that undermined the orthodox stance.
So they go on stabbing campaigns in gay pride parades. They start west bank resettlements in defiance of government orders (historically, the government was the backer of such policies, to gain leverage in negotiations with the Palestinian Authority or international powers, this is done without government approval).
They just had a riot the other day because a judge ordered to tear down a illegally built housing complex, even though everyone acknowledged it would quickly be rebuilt. It was paperwork issues, but it threatened to collapse the government.
Add to this Israeli’s fear via Obama’s deep hostility to Netayahu that the US won’t back Israel (Orthodox have a love hate relationship to the US, mostly hate), they don’t like the idea of aligning with Arab states to confront Iran (another war Obama more or less created). They see Oman is neutral, but Yemen South of Arabia is swinging back in forth in orbit to Iran or the Saudis, and can potentially become a third flank.
Russia is vasculating in Syria, to support Bashir or to leave him… if Syria collapses, Israel is strategically fucked.
Its very rare to see a state experiencing this much geopolitical turmoil and not snap and start going on the offensive. Take Prussia, it more or less was guaranteed to be conquered if it didn’t start pre-emotively striking neighboring states due to the balance of power, in each state’s case, required them to conquer Prussia. This mayhem started the Prussian Empire. It started the battles and wars, but was always on the defensive doing so, it was fight or die, and became a farcical “conservative” society in the process.
This can very well lead to the collapse of the peace process and seismic shifts back to a conservative root in Israeli society. Every event so far has been remarkably minor and routine in and of itself, but the society is being pushed towards radicalism and eventually war.
Something like this was predicted in WWZ (the book, not the movie) when the Arab refugees in Israeli were being taken in without question, so long as they weren’t zombies, and the Orthodox Jews bugged out stating the Israeli Civil War. It was completely surrounded, no allies, and its very identity and hope for the future marginalized.
These things scare the shit out of people. Pax Americana has more or less eliminated these fears from the west, but you see states like Russia and Iran go through them… just they don’t have nearly the kind of seismic forces as far as international isolation and threats to them as Israel does. Expect shit to get really fucked up for a while, and when you point to blame, point at western universities, or Obama… they were the seismic straw that shattered the camel’s back. I doubt anything positive or enlightened will arise from such prejudice.
When a society hits a strategic sticking point, but possesses a strong military tradition, you don’t collapse it by closing the last avenue of escape. You cause it to fight to survive. That’s the fight or flight principle, they can only go into flight if they gave it as a possibility.
The left has more or leased guaranteed they have no sense of escape. Don’t be surprise when the Jews finally are forced to lash out. They can change as a people overnight, with little choice but to do so, and its not because of a deficiency in them, but us.
The Prussians were not ammilitant assholes because if something in their character, but because the competing interests of the states around them forced them to become something else, very different. Once there traits are acquired, its hard as hell to lose. It took WW1 & WW2 to weed these elements out of the Germans. We are creating a Frankenstein based out of the insecurities and ambitions of every state around it.
Short of this, the Orthodox have no real chance of gaining widespread influence. Before ISIS (Obama’s policies created it) and the Boycott, they were laughingstocks. They can become a moral force very rapidly. Most here have little idea just how rapidly a scared as shit society can change. US was threatened by the Soviets, and pursued a international world campaign to ensure it wouldn’t be isolated. Mass drafts, daisy cutters, proxy wars everywhere. Israel no longer has a domino effect, it is surrounded now, and is deeply threatened. It needs allies, or it needs to fight a faction off enough for breathing room. Its not because its Jewish, its because its human. Its what human societies due under such circumstances.

Israelis are some of the biggest hypocrites to have conversations with concerning Palestine. Then the discussion always goes into being God’s chosen people where Palestine is the promised land where they’re justified in their resettlement of it.
