Really, what are the odds?

In the last week we’ve seen a freak, one of a kind mid-air collision between two fighter jets in the Aegean Sea

AND a freak, one of a kind mid-air collision between two Skydivers in Empuriabrava, Spain.

Really, what are the odds, in the same week, of two freak accidents of almost identical nature (albeit using different vehicles) happening, particularly within a few hundred miles of each other?

Science be damned, I can see the hand of a Deity in all this…

abiogenesis works on the same principal, doesn’t it?
Low odds, but it’ll eventually happen?

They’re not really ‘freak’ accidents are they. The first one the planes were either flying side by side trying to freak each other out or flew straight at each other, the secxond one they jumped from the same plane and hence were in the same area. Bound to happen now and again, probably just that usually it doesn’t knock the skydiver out.

Not exactly a few hundred miles either, Spain and Greece. More like 1500 miles.

Thanks for clearing that up.
He almost got me.

i’ve alread answered the odds question, its 50% eather it happends or it doesn’t

  1. Take two dices
  2. Throw them 10 times writing down the results each time
  3. Now calculate the probability that that exact sequance of numbers would show up.

Ain’t it big ? never-the-less IT HAPPENED.

Hi again SIATD … i’m midway into my exams right now; i got a 9.5 (from 1 to 10) in Spoken Romanian and a 10 in Spoken English.

P.S. “Spoken Romanian” isn’t just about being able to speak the language

Carpathian,

I’m glad that you can have a sense of humour about this. Needless to say, I was not using this as proof of a deity.

I had a bicycle with spoken wheels once…
