Reduce expendature on Scintific progress?

I was thinkingthat maybe reducing expenditure on scientific progress would help us with our debt issues…It sound bad because then we might get behind the others. but what is interesting is that the behindness is only temporary…Wealth grows exponentialy, if you get to a situation where you are growing wealth again by reduction of expenditure on science then after a time you can have a surplus, and rate of growth that allows for a higher expenditure on science that allows one to make up for lost time. Of course some things would be important to continue to fund like defense research and what not…

This is hard to actually know and may be hard to mathematically figure out…
Wealth Grows exponentially…(but does have a cap with respect to resources, and what can be done by resources which can change due to science…)

Science may grow exponentially it may grow linearly…
It is hard to judge at all, many would think it grows exponentially, and I think that overall technology unless there is a yet foreseen cap…(may have something to do with size/perceptive ability limits and such…)
But it is possible it has either a linear or even indeterminate growth rate due to the fact that assume science is learned there become the need for more science to battle that…as with regards to wealth or resource expenditure such can be a problem…

But if science is exponentially less than wealth growth or more linear, then it is plausible that by reducing expenditure on it the growth of wealth made exponentially will allow for further expenditure to increase overall scientific return…but then i would think there is actually a cap with regards to how fast science can grow despite expenditure on it…a limit of sorts…or a continual decrease in scientific return as more money is spent in relation to rates…that is to say the more you spend you might still get return but the amount returned over the expenditure reduces over time…There is then also the factor to take into consideration that being that the goal of this thought is to find a way to gain money and reduce expenditure on what allows one to be ahead of or on par with other scientific growth entities…and if those other entities began doing the same reduction increase reduction increase…then it might lead to an overall ineffectuality of the method…

conclusion: it is most likely only possible to assert the value of reducing science funding based on knowledge of the political atmosphere, and likely has a higher tendency to be negative to do such…
