I am off to live my life but l’d like a placeholder to keep track of comments that curb an important worldview (no crummy isquabbles). For ongoing future reference.
For example, somebody might be preaching Marxism, yet their execution of it may be clear Nationalism. Which isn’t a disqualifier, but it’s a hell of a qualifier. It’s worth noting, because often a person is the only available window on a view.
I’ve just been made aware of one similar thread, but that one’s obsolete now.
INTENTION:
- This is a thread where people post questionable comments as pure quotes, not “iirc I read somewhere that he wrote”.
- The quoted comments should pertain directly to a major worldview e.g. Chrstianity, Zionism, Epicureanism.
- OR: The quotes should be a candid take on a person deemed representative of a view.
- Explanatory notes are a necessary evil. At the risk of colouring perception of a quote, it’s needful to give context to the quote.
- The person being quoted should be allowed to defend themselves, but please refrain from skulduggery, i.e. when cornered, giving deflections that read like a Harry Potter plot, just rambling and convenient excuses, like the Texas Sharpshooter fallacy, where a person draws a target around the bullethole post fact to show they actually meant it to be like that.
