US State leaders push for better gun-control measures

As mass shootings in the United States since the start of 2022 exceed 200, the call for better gun-safety measures as a gun bill is being considered in Congress.

Don’t be afraid fear begets fear and that too is common sense - bi now.

LOL, the proof is in the pudding

Or is it inversely as well? Very little to split hairs on this one let’ s be honest I’m

Hey, as long as they don’t violate the second amendment of the US constitution, they should have no problems.

Probably the only gun control measure that would satisfy their desires would be to modify the constitution, and I can never understand why they don’t just lobby for that.

Because they have a notion.that the gun lobby could/ would defeat them.

Any law they pass which violates the second amendment will be null and void, so it seems like a waste of time.

If that is the case, maybe the mayority of the people as represented by themselves or their elected politicians required by constitutional law are invested in prioritizing their right to keep and bear arms for self defence over the right of the police to sort them out in their own way, and the gun control lobby is just anti-democratic.

We are in the same page there, it’s too close a call even for opinion pollsters, unless I am wrong on this .

I don’t think it’s very close at all.

You don’t think or don’t really have the latest numbers?

For one thing, if it was even remotely close, the gun control lobby would be lobbying for an amendment of the constitution.

Now that’s a good point and why I did not choose to take the bar

It’s all just codified common sense.

These rulings and proposed laws have very little to do with the morality or virtue of abortion, borders, or guns.

The ENTIRE issue has always been -
Authoritarianism vs Democracy

SCOTUS reversed its prior anti-democracy Roe v Wade dictate (unconstitutional, unauthorized dictate concerning abortion rights).

School shootings, border violations, and most other high profile violence is created and used in order to persuade Americans to give up their democracy to authoritarian rulers (“give us what we want and we will go away” - socialist fascism). The police didn’t stop the Uvade school shooting because they wanted it to help them disarm US citizens. They actually prevented some officers from interfering with the killings - until the border patrol just side-stepped them and stopped the ordeal.

US Congress doesn’t dutifully alter their laws in a proper democratic way because they do not want the democratic system to function (70% of US Congress is anti-Constitutionalists – in effect - communists). The effort is to get SCOTUS and the US President to defy congressionally formed laws in favor if any authoritarian power enhancement (the criminal O’Biden quickly complies).

It is a war - World Authoritarianism vs US Constitution.

PK, Mr R, Ec, Meno, Iambiguous, most others here favor world authoritarianism (world communism) over democracy. Most of the world’s population doesn’t even know what it is about (ignorance reigns - intentionally - part of the war strategy against democracy).

Obsrvr.

You are some piece of work.

All of us paid for those nuclear missile silos. Constitutionally, it the property of all the people.

Doesn’t say what kind of arms.

To be perfectly honest… I’ll take the constitution…

We should, 400 million of us, get a button in the mail for our tax dollars as well… and anyone who presses it blows up the world 50 times over.

Obsrvr. Do you live in America?

Do you even know what you’re saying?

I think you’ve been trolling these boards the entire time.

There’s nothing more authoritarian than women forced to have lumps of mass that are still dependent upon their bodies to survive.

Let’s start talking about bacteria rights now.

Huh?

That common sense wins out, that it has reached the level of a justifiably contended issue.

Reversely? Did the sense of the need to do something communally cause legal maneuvers to form the basic leveling of the push for gun control?

Or, did the less likely scenario of some agnostic group to disseminate politically loaded messages via available scientific data to infirm legislators to appeal against the formidable power of the American gun lobby?

Or even a link up with ROE related court procedures, like, how does the murder of embryonically defined life terminations and control of issues relating to those -alined with the loss of life issues which generally can be litigated by such as brought up by gun control, euthanasia issues in a general framework of justifying to limits of reasonable weighing of pro and con statuary precedential evidence.

I think the statistics for 2022 -thus far- speak for themselves.

Amendments… are a necessary par-for-the-course, for all bills and rights and legislature… they are an amendment to reflect current times, nothing more.

That evidence of community involvement can be caused by reasonable statistical evidence that what communities are becoming aware of the issues with their consequences, through education and information gathering, pushing back on the NRA, of inversely, that representatives acutely sensitive of their constituents’ feeling on the matter, will vote in accordance to their wishes.

Exactly.

Exactly. What’s been taking them so long?
