I have been discussing sexual orientation with some of my friends and been looking through the polls of a couple other forums. Interestingly enough, it appears that bisexuality is quite common after heterosexuality, and homosexuality is common enough. I am curious as to what the polls may bring here, so please take a vote, as it will obviously be anonymous - though it would be great if you posted your choice and your gender on the thread. Also, I would like to add that this is not the thread to discuss the morality or origin of sexual orientation. Such discussions are irrelevant to the purpose of the poll. One can, however, postulate why they think x is common amongst the online community.
Thanks
NOTE - The content of the poll was taken fromhere, because I thought it was very suitable.
EDIT:: There are two choices that list bisexual, but if you read on, one of them is actually preferred heterosexual. Sorry about that.
I was once molested on consent by a pool jet when I was like seven. I was getting ready to climb out of the pool and as I was clutched onto the side of the pool, the water feed jet got me right between the legs.
It tickled.
I liked it.
I stayed there for while and just leaned into the jet. It felt fabulous. I was ashamed.
I think the idea of bisexuality is interesting, its implications for societal cohesion and the like. However, unfortunately (in a sense), I can say I’ve never found myself sexually attracted to another male.
As long as you don’t abuse that jet there is no shame. Its only shameful if you go around to every pool and play with their jets. Hmm, that might become a fetish then. Are fetishes bad or shameful? nahhhhh, just obsesssions.
I have fought a private battle in my mind for almost two decades over my uncertianty regarding my sexual predilections. I would class myself as bisexual but I have recently changed that to homosexual.
Despite all this, I am painfully aware, of our culture’s obssession with sex and sexuality and sexual vanity in general, and over stating the importance or centrality of sexual identity.
Sexuality as a commodity - I have all kinds of issues with! Sexuality as a consumable good is a sell out! Seuxality, has seemingly lost all respectability, if it ever had any…believe me, I know how lecherous people can be, I’m a lecher myself, I know what I’m talking about.
Mechano-sexualism? Sounds like all the reward and none of the hassle!
And I went strong (!) heterosexual. I am fairly certain it is only women for me, but after a couple of ‘absolutes’ in my life fell through I am not open to the concept of change.
I’m so straight that leftist pink-o liberal p.c. whack-jobs call me homophobic. I never understood why being against gay people, or more so, being for God must necessarily be a product of some fear. Fear? Of what? No one’s gonna butt-rape me!
