This guy is in trouble for saying that he wasn’t gay. He isn’t gay. He’s bisexual, clearly. He has had relationships with both men and women. So, when asked by some cynical fucker (read: broadsheet journalist) ‘are you gay?’ and he replied truthfully, ‘no,’ he was being truthful…
A perceived lie (even if it isn’t a lie) is always news for a campaigning politician. People just like the scandal. It creates a stir.
Course, if you’re bisexual and a woman, a lot of people are sort of okay with it. If you’re bisexual and a man, then it’s gross. There are always people who dislike you either way, but men who sleep with other men will always be disgusting to some who would find women with women attractive. It’s easier to still call a man who sleeps with a man a fag, or gay, or whatever, than to put down a woman who sleeps with women and also happens to sleep with men. She’s labeled bisexual, not a lesbian. Another interesting quirk of society nowadays.
