Sisyphus or THE modern myth

I’ve considered writing sci-fi. Utopia makes boring sci-fi books and movies. Writers intentionally add conflicts to add drama.

Movies and books have programmed you to think utopia isn’t possible, because of the Old Testament. The New Testament is about utopia

It only seems like utopia is impossible because of a small group of greedy elites want to wage wars on humanity. Utopia is fundamentally possible.

I encourage you to watch the film Zardoz to where utopia mixed with immortality leads to, nihilistic despair and absolute boredom eventually.

That movie is an epic meme

As a sci-fi writer, I told you, they intentionally write failed utopias because writing successful utopias is boring.

This, perhaps unintentionally? has the effect of programming people IRL to believe that utopias aren’t possible, because the brain cannot distinguish fiction from fact. The brain is flooded with hundreds of movies of failed utopias and that is all the brain can comprehend.

The word utopia translated in ancient Greek literally means no place. And this why idealists when they go down that particular rabbit hole of utopianism always struggle.

Pragmatism and realism are your best friends mate, otherwise you’re going to be severely disappointed for the rest of your life in disillusionment. I know this, because I have been there myself. It’s okay to be an idealist, just be a more realistic one.

.

Yes.. but perhaps to make below average minds think that a utopia is impossible.

A utopia is possible..

Basic natural rule….a limit.

The closer to the absolute one advances, the more energy is required….so absoluteness would require infinite energy.

..a utopia starts with a mindset.. minds don’t need infinite energy to run, they just need to keep running.

I believe I have shown that our modern age is one
of nihilism…which is demonstrated by various
‘‘modern actions’’… among which is the absolute
allegiance demanded by various political parties…
This nihilism has been on display since the
French Revolution… the beginning of the modern
day political parties…if you are not for us, you
are, automatically against us, and this type of
nihilism is quite common these days…
Just watch the official communication channel of
the conservative/MAGA party, Faux News…always
attacking the Democratic party and its members…
the crime committed here, at least according to Faux
news is belonging to a ‘‘Subversive’’ party… anti-American,
a party full of traitors… at least according to Faux News…
These accusations are designed to turn the public
against certain values held by democrats… values
which not nihilistic, as the GOP/MAGA party values
are nihilistic… I have defined Nihilism as being
a negation of human beings and their values…
and that fits the GOP/MAGA party to a T…

Ok, Kropotkin, what is the solution to overcoming this
nihilism that we in the modern age practice?

One part of this is ending the total allegiance that
people hold to political parties… political parties are
the heart of modern day politics… from China to France
to England to America… All hail the party…
putting parties ahead of people is nihilism 101…

Politically, where is the answer to this question of
political parties being participants in nihilism by
denying people their person and their values…
the GOP denying gay people their rights, that is
nihilism, and denying trans people medical help,
that is nihilism and making laws that prevent
people from voting, that is nihilism… to prevent
people from having a say in their own government,
that is nihilism because it denies people their own
person and their values…all of the above
is common practice by the GOP/MAGA party…

So, politically, we must get rid of parties… bring
back the idea that each and every single person
has value and a voice and has meaning…
or as the declaration say,

“” We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all
men/human beings, are created equal, that they
are endowed by their creator with ‘‘CERTAIN
UNALIENABLE RIGHTS’’

That we judge people not on the color of their skin or
their nationality, or their political beliefs, or their religion,
but we judge based on the character of their person…
that we treat, as the declaration itself declares,
that we treat people with dignity, respect, as having
meaning and value, just because they are human beings…
‘‘Certain unalienable rights’’

and the path of negation, the path of the conservative and MAGA
holder is nihilism… and by holding to, and maintaining
political parties, is part of the path toward nihilism because
it puts party ahead of people… as capitalism puts
money/profits ahead of people… any negation of people,
that is by definition, nihilism…

So, what do we do, to overcome nihilism?

  1. Practice ‘‘WOKE’’ values because those values
treat people with the very values called for in the
Declaration of Independence… ‘‘That all people are
created equal… and are endowed by their creator,
with Certain unalienable Rights’’ the right to be
treated with dignity, honor, justice, hope, and respect…

  2. What else can we do to promote values that are the
opposite of nihilism… Which I have called ‘‘Ad meliora’’
toward the better… I believe that part of what allows
us to hold to human values and beliefs is ART…
The practice of ART is the practice of ‘‘Ad meliora’’…
for ART is about our human values and beliefs…
Notice that ART has been largely negated over
the last 100 years… whereas for centuries,
ART and its creations were debated, fought over,
falling in love with and philosophized…
    Virtually every philosopher after Kant
had much to say about ART… it was one
of the focal points of both Kierkegaard and Nietzsche…

ART is to my mind anyway, ‘‘Ad meliora’’ is for the better…
for ART brings us to the human condition… of pain, of sadness,
of love and hope… ART and its various aspects define
what it means to be human…ART doesn’t negate,
it uplifts and brings us Human values… we don’t
engage with ART anymore because we are an
age of Nihilism… and nihilism has nothing to
do with ART… because nihilism is the opposite of
ART… nihilism attempts to devalue and negate ART…
or answer me this… Why has modern day America
devalued ART? there are those around here who
declare that America has no culture… which is not
true, but that culture is nihilistic, is negative, devalues,
dehumanizes people… look at the MCU universe…
it glorifies augmented people, but negates the common
person… one person cannot make a difference within
the MCU universe… the only one with value are the
superhero’s… but who here is a superhero?
No one… and that is true everywhere… there are
no superhero’s, just people… the MCU universe is
perfect for today’s America because it is a negation of human
beings and their values… the MCU universe is
nihilistic… because it negates, devalues the average
person and their values…

ART meant to make money, and that is virtually all the
ART created in America today, all that ART is nihilism
because the act of making money/profits, negates,
devalues human beings… and that is the only reason
for the creation of ART today… to increase or profit financially
from the ART… today, ART has no other reason for existence
except to create profits and that is nihilism 101…

When ART returns to being about exploring what it
means to be human, what are the values that we
should be holding, that is when ART become relevant
again…

You do realize that most of humanity has been insane retards for the past 300,000 years or so? Only since the 1900s have humanity begun to achieve a modicum of sanity. That’s a very small speck of time compared to the blithering idiocy behind us.

For example it was the norm for most of history for all soldiers to accept partial or full deafness of firearms as the norm, no hearing protection, no philosophers or thinkers criticizing or complaining at all. They viewed it as masculine and just accepted it. Even though deafness is not natural and is something not commonly occurring in nature. Most of the people around them also believed the earth was 6,000 years old. We are dealing with the human brain mind that is about the intellectual equivalent of a Picasso painting.

My personal opinion: I have no way of knowing or verifying it, but my opinion is most of these writers are not malicious. Its just very difficult to make an engaging book or movie where everything goes right. Its much easier to write dystopias. I think its an unintended side effect that its programmed folks to think utopias are literally impossible. They are not.

Its like a computer. A computer, or a car, or an airplane, didn’t magically build itself. There is a certain way to build a computer, car or airplane and its not easy. A utopia is the same principle, there are certain ways to build a utopia, and its not going to magically build itself. Some people just see a challenge and just give up immediately, say it can’t be done, like they said airplanes can’t fly, and tried to make up bogus physics reasons why airplanes can’t fly, to justify their defeatist outlook.

Yes, and human civilization is very extremely fragile, just one bad global crisis can turn all of these civilized people into instant cruel savages overnight. Like a cruel wind that just blows through thousands of years of historical development into dust instantaneously.

It’s too bad our current global leadership doesn’t understand just how fragile human organized civilization really is.

I don’t know man, I am a very discriminate science fiction nerd connoisseur.

There’s not much I haven’t read already.

Its already been figured out! Me and AI already figured this out! Other humans have figured this out too! Its methane. Its like I keep saying it but nobody listens. One day people will have an epiphany.

Question… what comes out of your ass when you sit on a toilet?

Nope, civilization is not that fragile. The most that would happen is devolve into a Mad Max society, there would still be cars and technology. Remember that humans knew metallurgy in the BC era. They wouldn’t go full stone age or become full retards. Never go full retard.

The myth of Sisyphus, at its heart, is a myth
of rebellion… and what of the modern day
rebellion that calls out to us? What are you babbling
about Kropotkin? The present age is crying out for
a rebellion… and what are the two forces involved?

We have on one side, the state/society which by its
upholding human beings as ‘‘es’’, not as individuals,
but as a collective that produces… that is what is valuable
today… those who plays their roles of worker, producer
and consumer… that is making us less valuable than
profits or the creation of goods… if human beings are,
as business like to say, we can replace you at any time,
that means we are expendable… but the money we
bring in is not expendable… thus money has greater value
than human beings…
and that is the rebellion… to return human beings to having
greater value than money/profits or material goods…
In capitalism and in communism and Catholicism, human
beings are secondary to the objects being pursued…
money/material goods/ god…and even the trinkets of
existence… fame, power, material goods, titles, money…
all of which have more value than human beings…
as long as human beings are treated as ‘‘es’’ instead
of being treated as ‘‘du’’ we are reduced, we are
denied our human nature, we are dehumanized and
thus, we are victims of nihilism…
this pursuit of money/ of power/ of titles, that is nihilism
because it reduces our value as human beings…
until we are just workers, producers and consumers…
that is our value to society/ the state today… we are valued
for only what we can produce, what profits we can create…
we are not valued at all for being human… in fact,
we are denied our very right to be human in favor of
the pursuit of wealth and titles by others…

I fight to overthrow the system because the system
only sees me as a consumer, a worker, a producer…
it doesn’t see me for being human… I have value only
because I can create profits… once I no longer make
profits, once I get old, I am tossed out, retired…
and given very little to survive on because society, the
state no longer has any need for me because I am unable
to create profits, to create wealth… that is why IQ45 has
reduced Medicare and wants to reduce or even end
social security… because I have no value anymore because
I no longer create profits… that was my value to the state,
to the society…and we need to be open about what
is really happening… that is the open declaration that
old people, like me, have no value within the state/society
and thus, we are told to end our lives…( a GOP
state senator famously said that old people should,
for the betterment of younger people, kill ourselves)

the rebellion is about returning human beings into having
value, not just as consumers or workers, but as human beings…
that is the revolution, the coming rebellion… to claim our
rights as human beings, not as consumers or workers,
or producers, but as human beings… what are you
fighting for? and if not for that right to be human, then
what are you doing?

PS: I found the name of the GOP person who
suggested that old people die… he was/is,
the Texas Lieutenant Governor, Dan Patrick…in 2020,
who suggest that old people, those most at risk,
should ‘‘volunteer’’ to die to save the economy…
thus, showing us his values… money,
the economy over people…

What we need is for workers to be valued for their labor and productivity in society again over corporations or business owners, we’re not going to get that with your liberalism.

In thinking about our modern nihilism and its
discontents, we think about the various ‘‘brands’’
of nihilism… that of communism, that of capitalism,
that of Catholicism, (and Catholicism is a stand in
for all religions) and what is the one aspect of each
of these that connects each of them with each other?

in all three, ALL THREE, there is a necessity for us to
exist within them…I have no choice within capitalism to
opt out nor can I opt out with communism and there is
no opt out within religions…one must ‘‘roll’’ within
each ism without any choice or opt out…
just as within the myth of Sisyphus that we don’t
have an opt out clause… and we are condemned to
roll that rock up the hill, both individually and collectively…
and after some thought, we have created a word that
is the opposite of nihilism… Ad meliora… to better things,
toward better things…and what is the implication of
this ''toward better things?" that we have a choice in
creating our ‘‘better things’’… and therein lies the cure
for our current state of nihilism… nihilism is
a place where we have no choice, there is no freedom
to act, we can do no other…

Ad meliora… is about having a choice in what present and
future we engage with… if we are forced by necessity
to act, that is nihilism… if we have choices and freedom,
that is Ad meliora…for we can then choose to move toward
the better… whatever the better happens to be for us, individually
and collectively…

and what can be one of our choices? that of ART… we can,
by the use of ART, move ourselves away from nihilism because
ART is the act of choosing other possibilities… we become
defined by our choices, not our necessities… and that
sport fans, is moving away from the current state of nihilism
that permeates our current world…

to say, you must choose god, that is nihilism because
it doesn’t offer us any choice…

can we, unlike Sisyphus, discover we have choices other
than rolling that rock uphill, forever?

do we have choices and what are they? ''What am I to do?"
''What am I to believe in?" ''What can I know?" The Kantian
choices are the ideal place to discover what possibilities
do exists for us in our modern world…

Freedom and liberty are the bedrock of our escaping
our necessities, which is to say, ''Ad meliora…

Kropotkin

given this understanding of nihilism, where
there is only necessity, not freedom nor liberty,
we now ask, what about two other aspects of existence?
One, ART, two, Transcendence…

ART is the act of creativity, and that creation is ‘‘Ad Meliora’’
because it done out of the act of creation, not necessity…
we do ART because it is a choice, and that makes it
anti-nihilistic…we might create ART out of an inner
necessity, but that isn’t an external necessity…
and we choose the way the ART is created…
not by necessity, but by choice…

And what of Transcendence? Transcendence is just
another way of saying god and the business of existence
being religious based…one either goes to heaven or hell…
and think about both… they are not choices nor freedom,
but necessity… we have no choice but to go to one or other…
that necessity rules out choice or freedom… this is why
religion is nihilism… because it removes our choices…
I reject both heaven and hell… because it is of necessity,
not of choice…

removal of choice leads us to nihilism…
This is why I also reject conservatism…
because the basic, fundamental aspect of
conservativism is necessity… recall the
spirit of Machiavelli, which is to say, that man/human
beings cannot change our spots, as it were…
we are born either good or evil, and we cannot ever
change that… that necessity is nihilism…
remove our choices, and that becomes nihilism…
allow us choices and that become ‘‘Ad Meliora’’

and if we have choices, as we must have, then
existentialism is our philosophical choice…
because within existentialism arises our possibilities…
our choices…

the very existential possibility of being authentic or inauthentic,
comes from our own choices… we decide if we
are being authentic or not…and under what standards are
we being authentic or inauthentic…
to lead an authentic life requires us to make choices…
and what exactly does it mean to be authentic?
even all the while we are pushing that rock up the hill,
we are still true to our chosen value…
As a liberal, I have, as my own personal value, justice…
and as long as I practice justice all the while pushing that
rock up hill, I am being authentic… If I shift my values to
match the ‘‘common’’ values that people do to ‘‘fit in’’
then I am being inauthentic… what values do I practice
and why those values are the questions of existentialism…
and that is one path to overcoming our modern day
nihilism… by our choices… If I choose to overcome
by discovering and engage with my own possibilities,
that is overcoming nihilism… and my own possibilities
have changed… I can no longer act upon my possibilities
of my youth… for example, one of my younger possibilities
was to run the mile in 4:00 miniutes… today, I can’t even
walk a mile, little less run a mile… (back and ankle problems)
but I can try to achieve my other remaining possibilities,
one of which is to become the greatest philosopher of all time…
and that judgement lies outside of my hands… so, I leave
it to posterity to make those judgments…
All I can do is work every single day to fully embrace
those philosophical possibilities that lies within me…
and in working out those possibilities of self, I
am embracing ‘‘Ad Meliora’’ toward the better… not
nihilism… and that is how we overcome our current
nihilism… by going toward the better, not toward
accepting our modern nihilism by simply, without
protest, accepting our place in society and engage in
pushing the rock uphill all our lives…

Kropotkin
